Take full ownership.<br><br>This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned finance leader to step into a Head of Finance role within a well-established, growing groundworks and civil engineering business .<br><br>You'll take full ownership of the finance function, working closely with the Directors to shape strategy, improve performance, and drive commercial decision-making across the business.<br><br>This is not a role for someone who wants to sit back and report numbers — you'll be at the heart of the business, influencing outcomes and adding real value.<br><br>The Role<br><br>As Head of Finance, you will:<br>Lead and develop a finance team of 6<br>Take ownership of: Management accounts<br>Budgeting and forecasting<br>Cashflow and working capital<br><br>Provide meaningful commercial insight to senior leadership<br>Oversee VAT, CIS, and statutory compliance<br>Drive improvements in systems, processes, and controls<br>Partner with operational teams to support project performance<br>What We're Looking For<br><br>We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running in a construction environment , ideally:<br>Background in groundworks or civil engineering (essential)<br>Strong understanding of CIS and contract accounting<br>Proven experience in a Head of Finance / Financial Controller role<br>Experience managing and developing teams<br>Comfortable working in a hands-on, owner-managed business<br>Qualifications are welcome but not essential — proven experience in the sector is more important.<br><br>Why This Role?
