This is an opportunity to join a highly ambitious team working on complex, real-world engineering challenges with the potential to make a meaningful impact on patient care globally.</p><p>The business is looking for an <strong>Electronics Engineering Manager</strong> to lead electronics development across a sophisticated medical device platform. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical delivery, team management, and engineering operations. You will play a key role in designing complex hardware, shaping development roadmaps, improving engineering processes, and supporting the transition from prototype through to manufacture.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The role</strong></p><p>You will lead the development of mixed-signal electronic systems at the core of an advanced medical device, while managing and mentoring a small team of electronics engineers. The role will suit someone who enjoys staying close to the detail technically, while also building structure, capability, and quality across a growing hardware function.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Own electronics development roadmaps in line with product and system requirements</li><li>Lead the end-to-end design of complex mixed-signal hardware, including high-speed digital and low-noise analogue circuitry</li><li>Oversee system integration, hardware bring-up, verification, and performance validation</li><li>Manage and mentor a team of electronics engineers, setting priorities and supporting individual development</li><li>Support FPGA development across the product lifecycle, working on architecture, integration, and bring-up alongside specialist engineers</li><li>Drive PCB design and delivery, including multilayer and HDI boards, with a focus on signal integrity, power integrity, and design for manufacture</li><li>Ensure engineering work is developed in line with relevant medical device standards and quality processes</li><li>Support the transition from prototype to production, working closely with manufacturing partners and suppliers</li><li>Establish and maintain scalable engineering processes, SOPs, toolchains, and best practices</li><li>Oversee core engineering infrastructure, including design tools, libraries, repositories, lab equipment, and external contractors</li></ul><p><br></p><p>What we’re looking for</p><ul><li>5+ years’ experience in electronics engineering, with at least 2 years in a team lead or engineering management capacity</li><li>Strong track record in mixed-signal hardware design, including high-speed digital and analogue systems</li><li>Experience with high-speed interfaces such as LVDS, JESD204B, SerDes, and associated PCB design challenges</li><li>Proven background in real-time data acquisition or processing systems</li><li>Experience developing electronics in a regulated environment such as medical devices or another highly controlled industry</li><li>Knowledge of relevant standards such as IEC 60601-1, ISO 14971, and ISO 13485</li><li>Experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineers within a high-performing team</li><li>Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across software, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams</li><li>Exposure to FPGA-based systems is essential, with the ability to work effectively on FPGA-related development and integration</li><li>Deep FPGA design expertise is desirable rather than essential</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Desirable experience</strong></p><ul><li>Stronger FPGA background using Xilinx/AMD tools such as Vivado</li><li>RTL coding experience in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog</li><li>Experience with DSP pipelines in FPGA fabric</li><li>Familiarity with Linux, Python, or C/C++</li><li>Background in optical, photonics, or advanced sensing technologies</li><li>Continuous improvement training such as Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Working environment & benefits</p><p>This is a hybrid role based in <strong>Central London</strong>, with the team typically onsite <strong>4 days per week</strong> and one flexible day working from home.</p><p><br></p><p>The package includes:</p><ul><li>Equity participation</li><li>Salary sacrifice pension</li><li>Private medical, dental, and vision cover</li><li>Life assurance</li><li>Mental health support</li><li>Unlimited holiday plus bank holidays</li><li>One week of remote working per quarter</li><li>Daily lunch allowance and late-working evening meal support</li><li>Fresh fruit, snacks, and drinks in the office</li><li>Wellbeing rewards and learning support, including access to professional development resources</li></ul><p><br></p><p>AI-enabled ways of working are a core part of the engineering culture, so the successful person will be someone who actively embraces new tools to improve collaboration, efficiency, and delivery. xwzovoh </p><p><br></p><p>Get in touch to learn more about this opportunity in a fast-moving, mission-led MedTech environment.</p>
