<p><strong>Hardware Development Engineer</strong></p><p><strong>Based in Farnborough, UK </strong></p><p><strong>Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance </strong></p><p><br><br>Interested in learning more about this job Scroll down and find out what skills, experience and educational qualifications are needed.<br></p><p>We’re hiring an experienced Hardware Development Engineer to work on secure, mission‑critical digital systems used in government and defence environments.</p><p>This is a hands‑on engineering role for someone who enjoys owning hardware from initial concept through design, testing, production, and customer delivery. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team working on both standard and bespoke secure hardware solutions.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What you’ll be doing</strong></p><ul><li>Owning hardware designs across the full development lifecycle</li><li>Designing high‑speed digital PCBs for products and test equipment</li><li>Creating schematics and supporting PCB layout</li><li>Building, testing, and debugging prototypes in the lab</li><li>Working closely with software, mechanical, and systems engineers</li><li>Supporting manufacturing, resolving production and obsolescence issues</li><li>Developing test processes and supporting system and customer testing</li><li>Helping integrate secure hardware into customer platforms</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What we’re looking for</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience as a hardware / electronics engineer</li><li>Strong understanding of digital electronics, high‑speed design, and signal integrity</li><li>Confident using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, multimeters, power supplies)</li><li>Experience with industry‑standard CAD tools (e.g. Cadence, Mentor, Altium)</li><li>Comfortable working in a secure, on‑site environment</li><li>UK national with the ability to obtain UK security clearance</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Nice to have (but not essential)</strong></p><ul><li>Experience supporting manufacturing or production</li><li>Design for Test (DFT) / Design for Manufacture (DFM)</li><li>Embedded firmware or test software experience (C/C++/Python)</li><li>Background in government, defence, or other security‑sensitive industries</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Why apply?</strong></p><ul><li>Work on technology that genuinely matters</li><li>High ownership and technical responsibility</li><li>Exposure to the full lifecycle of complex hardware products</li><li>Collaborative engineering culture with real impact</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Interested? xwzovoh </strong></p><p>Apply directly or message for a confidential conversation.</p>
