Group Financial Director

We are working exclusively with a growing, privately owned group based in the West Midlands to appoint a Group Finance Director. The incoming Group Finance Director will take ownership of all financial activities across the group, ensuring robust controls and compliance while acting as a true commercial partner to the senior leadership team.<br>The Role<br>Reporting directly to the Group CEO, you will be responsible for:<br>Strategic & Commercial Leadership - Lead and implement Group strategy aligned to the owners' vision; identify growth opportunities, new business initiatives and drive year-on-year financial performance.<br>Stakeholder & Board Relationships - Maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, banks and trade associations; provide clear financial reporting and advice to the Board, senior leaders and staff.<br>Financial Controls & Reporting - Own the month-end cycle, consolidated group accounts, balance sheet reviews, cash management, fixed asset registers and intercompany accounting, maintaining strong controls throughout.<br>Compliance & Risk - Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory obligations including statutory accounts, tax compliance, external audit and all regulatory returns and reporting.<br>Operational Efficiency - Drive process improvements, implement new technologies, monitor external contracts for value, and oversee AP, AR and Payroll functions.<br>People & Team Leadership - Lead, motivate and develop the Finance team; foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure the team has the capability to deliver to the required standard.<br>Who We're Looking For<br>The successful candidate will be:<br>A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with extensive experience in a commercial environment.<br>Proven in a Group or multi-entity finance leadership role, with significant experience managing and developing teams.<br>Commercially astute, with strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to influence at board level.<br>Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a track record of maintaining robust financial controls.<br>An excellent communicator with the interpersonal skills to build strong relationships at all levels.<br>How to Apply<br>This role is being managed exclusively by FD Recruit. xwzovoh If this sounds like your next move, we'd love to hear from you.
