<p> GPU Software Engineer — Contract Opportunity | Cambridge, UK</p><p><br><br>Have you got what it takes to succeed The following information should be read carefully by all candidates.<br></p><p>We are a globally recognised technology company with deep roots in Cambridge's thriving tech ecosystem. Our GPU Architecture team is expanding, and we're looking for a talented GPU Software Engineer to help shape the next generation of 3D graphics APIs.</p><p><br></p><p>This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of software and silicon — investigating and designing features for APIs like Vulkan and DirectX, and understanding how they apply to current and future GPU hardware.</p><p><br></p><p> Location: Cambridge, UK (fully on-site)</p><p> Contract Type: PAYE | Inside IR35</p><p> Duration: 12 months (with strong potential to extend)</p><p><br></p><p>─────────────────────────────</p><p> WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING</p><p>─────────────────────────────</p><p><br></p><p>▸ Designing and developing new features for 3D Graphics APIs</p><p>▸ Investigating and evaluating improvements to existing APIs, including hardware implications</p><p>▸ Drafting new API extensions and writing technical specifications</p><p>▸ Prototyping interface changes and proposing GPU architecture enhancements</p><p>▸ Conducting performance analysis of proposed changes</p><p>▸ Demonstrating the advantages of new APIs through real-world scenarios</p><p><br></p><p>You'll collaborate closely with software and hardware architects and driver development teams — bridging the gap between API design and silicon.</p><p><br></p><p>─────────────────────────────</p><p> WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR</p><p>─────────────────────────────</p><p><br></p><p>Essential:</p><p>• BSc, MSc, or PhD in a relevant discipline</p><p>• 4+ years of experience in GPU software architecture or driver development</p><p>• Hands-on experience with one or more of: Vulkan, OpenGL ES, Metal, DirectX 11/12</p><p>• Strong understanding of GPU architectures and the workloads they run</p><p><br></p><p>Nice to have:</p><p>• Knowledge of rasterization, ray-tracing, and mesh shading pipelines</p><p>• Familiarity with neural rendering techniques</p><p>• C/C++ programming experience</p><p>• Creative, xwzovoh self-motivated, and a collaborative team player</p><p><br></p><p>─────────────────────────────</p><p> CONTRACT DETAILS</p><p>─────────────────────────────</p><p><br></p><p>▸ On-site role — Cambridge, UK</p><p>▸ PAYE engagement, inside IR35</p><p>▸ 12-month initial term with extension available</p><p>▸ Confidential employer</p><p><br></p><p>If you have a strong background in GPU software architecture and a passion for pushing the boundaries of graphics technology, we'd love to hear from you.
