General Farm Assistant

<p>We're recruiting for a General Farm Assistant for a farm in Essex, CM5.</p><br>Please make an application promptly if you are a good match for this role due to high levels of interest.<br><p>The exciting and varied role has been created for someone to become a key team member at a progressive mixed-farming business in Essex between Ongar and Chelmsford.</p><p>They grow over 300 ha of combinable crops and offer further contract farming services, including umbilical slurry/digestate application.</p><p>They also have a 600-sow indoor unit with progeny, finished on the same site and another site in East Anglia.</p><p>The business also has a few diversifications: food manufacturing, renewables, property, woodland, and countryside stewardship.</p><p>Job description:</p><ul><li>Tractor driving - mucking out, hedgecutting, slurry pump work, and some arable operations at peak times</li><li>Grounds maintenance - cutting grass, cutting hedges, strimming, pressure washing, painting</li><li>Pig stock - move pigs, holiday cover on stock, repairs, maintenance</li><li>Workshop duties</li></ul><p>This job would be well suited to a new entrant, a tractor driver, or a stockperson looking for additional variety. Further training, where required, will be provided.</p><p>Person specifications:</p><ul><li>Passionate about farming</li><li>Polite, enthusiastic, positive</li><li>A team player, motivated, willing to listen & learn, and able to work under pressure</li><li>A full UK driver's license is essential</li></ul><p>Desirable Tickets (not essential as further training will be given):</p><ul><li>Telehandler</li><li>Masted Forklift</li><li>PA1 & PA2</li><li>PA4G & PA4S</li></ul><p>Our client is looking for someone who wants a long-term role.
