Firmware Design Engineer

<p>Copello are working with a Defence client who is looking for a Firmware Design Engineer to join their firmware team. The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of the firmware used in avionics products. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of digital logic and firmware design development but also a healthy interest in digital and analogue electronics (especially RF) as well as software.</p><p><br><br>Interested in this role You can find all the relevant information in the description below.<br></p><p>You will work within a small team of firmware experts and you will be supervised to design enhancements which you will implement, test and document in our structured process-driven environment. Although the primary role is firmware development you may also get the opportunity to develop software or use Matlab to simulate DSP algorithms or analyse data.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Produce documentation required to support the firmware</li><li>Design, develop, and test high-quality firmware on time, and within budget</li><li>Assist in estimating, planning and progress reporting</li><li>Provide support to the project and systems teams</li><li>Collaborate with discipline peers within the team and other project team members to analyse and address project requirements</li><li>Apply and comply with engineering processes and practices</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications xwzovoh and Experience required:</strong></p><ul><li>Proficient in design, coding, debugging, and testing of digital systems</li><li>Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communications, or related engineering discipline</li><li>Proficient in digital implementation using VHDL language</li><li>Ability to write optimised, efficient code.</li><li>Ability to use version control systems e.g. GIT</li><li>Understanding of configuration management</li></ul>
