Embedded Software V&V Engineer

World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit an ADA Embedded Software V&V Engineer subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract.  A defence or aerospace industry background would be great. <br><br>Are you the right applicant for this opportunity Find out by reading through the role overview below.<br> <br>Rate: £70.00 per hour<br>Location: Stevenage <br>Hybrid / Remote working: Full time on site (occasional work from home day) (The company are happy with a 4 day week)<br>Contract: 37 Hours per week<br>Overtime: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at ‘time and a quarter’<br>Duration: 6 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)<br>IR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)<br> Interview process: 1 stage video interview<br> <br>Embedded Software V&V Engineer Job Description:<br><br>The department create the complex, highly reliable real-time software that powers missile systems and their components, ensuring that they provide the performance and functionality their users require when they need it.<br>They are involved all the way through development – from concept studies through trials firings and the move into production and service.<br> <br>Responsibilities:<br>  <br>You will be responsible for the verification and validation activities on real-time systems application software for the next generation of Missile Systems.<br>The role requires taking requirements, developing them into robust test cases, preparing and executing tests, capturing data, and delivering actionable feedback to project teams. <br>You will have to draw upon your strong practical problem-solving skills, data acquisition expertise, and adaptability.<br> <br>Skillset/experience required: <br> <br>Essential:<br><br>Strong experience of V&V activities in an embedded software environment.<br>Strong problem-solving skills<br>Ability to work independently or as part of a team<br>Good communication skills<br>Good documentation skills<br>Ability to turn requirements into structured test cases and procedures.<br>Experience of working in a lab environment on an electro mechanical product running embedded<br>software. xwzovoh <br>Good working knowledge of the complete software engineering lifecycle.<br>Scripting abilities<br>Embedded software development experience using Ada. <br>Advantageous:<br><br>Safety critical systems experience<br>Embedded software development experience using C.<br>Knowledge of standards such as DO-178C, DO-330 & DefStan 00-55<br>Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems<br>Model Driven Design experience<br>Knowledge of test automation methods<br>Knowledge of Lauterbach Trace tools, DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM/RTC), Rapita<br>Suite, Rhapsody<br>Breakpoint Analysis experience<br>Experience of Focused Code Reviews
