Job Title: Electronic Test Technician Location: Colchester Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 Employment Type: Permanent Working Arrangements: Onsite working Are you an experienced Electronics Test Technician who enjoys hands‑on testing, fault‑finding and working with complex electronic assemblies? This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading technology manufacturer working across advanced electronics.<br><br>Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.<br><br>Why This Role Stands Out Work with a wide range of electronics, from digital, analogue and RF Circuits Directly influence product quality, performance and reliability.<br><br>Join a collaborative engineering team with strong development opportunities.<br><br>Key Responsibilities Perform electronics testing using oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analysers, network analysers and other test equipment.<br><br>Test, fault‑find and repair PCB assemblies and electro‑mechanical products down to component level.<br><br>Carry out production, system and functional testing to internal and customer specifications.<br><br>Diagnose and repair faulty finished goods, documenting findings and corrective actions.<br><br>Build and configure test fixtures, jigs and ATS setups to support new and existing test processes.<br><br>Interpret circuit diagrams, PCB layouts and wiring schematics to support troubleshooting.<br><br>Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve test coverage, quality and throughput.<br><br>Maintain, calibrate and ensure correct operation of all test equipment.<br><br>Experience & Skills Required 5 years' experience in electronics manufacturing, test or repair.<br><br>Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics.<br><br>Confident in component‑level fault‑finding, rework and soldering.<br><br>Experience with RF testing or RF equipment is highly desirable, but not essential.<br><br>Familiarity with IP networks, embedded systems or wireless technologies is beneficial.<br><br>Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC‑610 desirable).<br><br>Strong communication, documentation and problem‑solving skills.<br><br>Degree/HND in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or similar is beneficial but not essential.<br><br>Ready for Your Next Move?
