World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit an Electrical Systems Engineer / Architect subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract. Your base site can either be from the companies Bristol, Stevenage or Bolton office. This role will be a hybrid position – 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote. <br><br>For a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.<br> <br>Hourly Rate: £60 - £85 (Umbrella). <br> <br>Contract Duration: 6 Months initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter. <br> <br>Missile Electronic Architect Job Description:<br> <br>Electrical Architects/Engineers are involved in all aspects of missile development, from the early concept studies to series production and in-service support. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to build on their engineering experience.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br><br>You will be responsible for the electrical architecture and requirements for missiles and/or their associated launcher systems with duties including:<br><br>Specifying/determining<br>system electrical requirements<br>interface definitions and characteristics between subsystems/equipment<br>power architecture, including power budget and power profiles <br>data communication and processing architecture<br>requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding and screening<br>signal safety, including routing of safety related signals <br>Supporting test and fault-finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification and integration<br>Reviewing and authoring reports, guidelines and processes<br>Design assessments and analysis<br>Working to defence/industry standards<br>Attending and supporting design reviews <br>Alternatively, acting as the Equipment Manager (RMO) for specific electrical/electronic equipment(s) that are part of a missile or launcher system you will:<br><br>Project manage the equipment(s) on behalf of the project during development, qualification and manufacture<br>Own the requirements on behalf of the project for the equipment(s)<br>Produce Statement(s) of Work for the associated design authority for the equipment(s)<br>Create and update plans showing activities for the equipment(s) <br>Manage internal & external design authorities for delivery of the equipment(s) hardware, software and deliverables to schedule, cost, quality and performance<br>Hold regular progress reviews with the design authority for the equipment(s)<br>Review qualification xwzovoh verification evidence<br>Track and find resolution to equipment non-compliances<br>Attend and support design reviews <br><br>Skillset/experience required:<br><br>Technical experience required:<br><br>electrical/electronics<br>interface definitions<br>knowledge of defence/industry standards, etc.<br>degree level qualification in a related subject<br>systems engineering<br>writing reports<br>Ideally this would be within a defence related background, however, experience within other engineering industries will also be considered.<br>Experience within these other areas are also of interest but not essential:<br><br>defence<br>weapon systems<br>power supplies<br>actuators<br>data communication<br>sensors<br>EMC<br>Health Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS)<br>Model Based Engineering (MBE)
