Electrical Site Technician (Switchgear / Power Systems) £33,000 – £40000 + Overtime + On-Call + Excellent Benefits<br><br>The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.<br>UK Site-Based | Permanent<br>We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering business for an experienced Electrical Site Technician to support the maintenance, servicing, and installation of AC and DC switchgear and power systems across customer sites in the UK.<br>This role offers a strong mix of site-based electrical maintenance work and factory-based switchgear assembly when not on site. While prior switchgear experience is not essential, candidates must have a proven background working with control panels, or distribution equipment.<br>The Role Electrical maintenance, servicing, testing, and fault-finding on switchgear<br><br>Planned preventative maintenance and reactive site work<br><br>Interpretation of electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and general arrangement drawings<br><br>On-site customer support, reporting, and technical problem solving<br><br>Factory-based assembly of switchgear and electrical panels when not attending site work<br><br>Control panel wiring, cabling, and copper busbar forming and fitting<br><br>Participation in an on-call rota, including weekday daytime call-outs<br><br>Travel to customer sites across the UK, with occasional overnight stays<br><br>What We're Looking For Proven experience as an Electrical Site Technician, Electrical Maintenance Technician, or similar<br><br>Hands-on experience with switchgear, control panels, busbars, or power distribution systems<br><br>Strong ability to read xwzovoh and interpret electrical drawings and schematics<br><br>Full UK driving licence<br><br>Ability to pass a PTS medical (safety-critical role)<br><br>Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team<br><br>What's on Offer Salary: £33,000 – £40,000<br><br>Overtime and on-call payments<br><br>Private pension scheme<br><br>Private healthcare<br><br>Sick pay<br><br>25 days holiday + bank holidays<br><br>Long-term, secure permanent opportunity within a growing engineering business
