Electrical Design Engineer

<p>Job Description</p><p>Electrical Design EngineerWe are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join a busy building services design team.<br><br>The full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.<br><br>The successful candidate will design electrical systems for a variety of building projects, producing clear drawings, schematics and calculation work to support safe, compliant and cost-effective installations.Key responsibilities- Develop electrical designs for building services including power distribution, general lighting, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems- Produce detailed electrical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD (or similar CAD software)- Perform electrical calculations including load assessments, cable sizing and voltage drop calculations- Coordinate with mechanical, structural and architectural teams to integrate electrical systems into overall building designs- Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations, standards and client/project specifications- Prepare technical reports, specifications and schedules to support tender and construction stages- Review contractor queries and provide technical support during construction and commissioning- Maintain accurate design documentation and revision controlEssential skills and experience- Proven experience in electrical design for building services (power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms)- Proficient in producing electrical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD or equivalent software- Experience carrying out electrical calculations, including load calculations, cable sizing and voltage drop analysis- xwzovoh Knowledge of building regulations, standards and construction processes relevant to electrical installations- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail- Good communication skills and experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary teamsDesirable- Qualifications in electrical engineering (BEng, HNC/HND or equivalent) or relevant industry experience- Experience with Revit MEP, Dialux/Relux or other lighting/design tools- Familiarity with project stages from concept through to construction and handover</p>
