<p><strong>Overview of role</strong></p><p>Join a specialist engineering consultancy delivering low-carbon energy and infrastructure solutions. This role focuses on electrical design for renewable heat and power projects, supporting net zero and energy transition programmes across commercial and utility-scale developments. There will also be a focus on adaptation and mitigation of climate change.</p><p><br><br>Make sure to apply quickly in order to maximise your chances of being considered for an interview Read the complete job description below.<br></p><p>You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to develop practical, buildable designs from early concept through to technical delivery.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Role responsibilities and requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Develop electrical designs for decarbonisation, energy centres, and heat network projects (concept to detailed design)</li><li>Perform load calculations and size electrical systems (LV distribution, switchgear, equipment)</li><li>Produce schematics, models, and layouts using design software (e.g. CAD/BIM tools)</li><li>Support engineering analysis and validate system performance</li><li>Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to deliver coordinated designs</li><li>Contribute to technical specifications, reports, and tender documentation</li><li>Assist with technology reviews and low-carbon solution appraisals</li><li>Support grid connection applications and technical submissions</li><li>Conduct surveys and integrate site data into designs</li><li>Provide technical input during construction and commissioning</li><li>Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and safety requirements</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Key skills and qualities needed</strong></p><ul><li>Solid grounding in low-voltage electrical design</li><li>Working knowledge of UK standards and regulations (e.g. wiring regulations, building standards)</li><li>Ability to produce electrical schematics and system layouts</li><li>Familiarity with lighting, power, data, and control systems</li><li>Competence with industry design tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit)</li><li>Understanding of sustainable design principles and environmental factors</li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills</li><li>Awareness of health & safety and design risk considerations</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Further information</strong></p><p>You will be joining and excellent and committed team of consultants and engineers working in the decarbonisation space. xwzovoh The role will offer a wide range of career development opportunities and training.</p>
