Electrical Design Connections Engineer

<p>We have a requirement for a Connections Designer to deliver projects for DNOs. To be based at either the DNO's premises or at our Colchester office.</p><p><br><br>The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.<br></p><p><strong>You will be proficient in:</strong></p><ul><li>Design and costing of LV & 11kV (up to and including 132 kV) projects for new Connections, asset replacement, non-rechargeable and diversions</li><li>Analysing network issues and performance problems, and propose technically sound and cost-effective solutions</li><li>Analysing generation connections and issue jobs for Witness Testing</li><li>Producing concise business cases in the correct format and present them for authorisation in a timely manner to deliver the Production Plan</li><li>Determining the appropriate point of connection (POC) for new load and generation enquiries from LV up to and including 132 kV</li><li>Undertaking site visits and meetings as necessary</li></ul><p><strong>Ideally you will also be aware of:</strong></p><ul><li>Electricity network regulations / NERS requirements</li><li>DNO or Grid code for protection settings</li><li>Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) requirements in the electricity industry</li></ul><p><strong>You should have the following skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Confident, motivated and dynamic</li><li>Versatility – able to turn your hand to a wide range of proposals</li><li>Good verbal and paper communication skills</li><li>Working well xwzovoh under deadline pressure</li><li>Self-assessment/critique</li><li>Self-sufficient</li></ul><p><strong>Required education and training:</strong></p><ul><li>it is essential that as a minimum you possess an HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in electrical/electronic engineering or physics</li><li>Incorporated Engineer/member of the IET/Chartered Engineer</li></ul><p>If you are interested, please submit your CV to and we will find a convenient time for an interview.</p><p><br></p>
