Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Energy from Waste company in the UK to recruit an Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Technician for its site in North Yorkshire.<br><br>If you are considering sending an application, make sure to hit the apply button below after reading through the entire description.<br><br>The EC&I Technician role comes with a starting salary of up to £48,000 and a bonus.<br><br>If you are an apprentice trained EC&I Technician with experience on heavy industrial sites and looking to work then submit your CV to apply today.<br><br>Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Technician role Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will: Perform fault finding and rectification on electrical, control, and instrumentation equipment.<br><br>Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks to the highest standards.<br><br>Manage a delegated plant area, including planned outages and scheduled maintenance activities.<br><br>Ensure all client specifications and requirements are consistently met and maintained.<br><br>Assist in planned outages and shutdown activities, supporting the maintenance team's objectives.<br><br>Report maintenance issues promptly through line management to ensure timely resolution.<br><br>Accurately complete maintenance documentation using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).<br><br>Support the Lead EC&I Engineer with ordering and managing critical spares inventory.<br><br>Participate actively in team briefings, toolbox talks, and continuous safety meetings.<br><br>Adhere strictly to site safety rules and health, safety, quality, and environmental policies at all times.<br><br>Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (Electrical HNC desirable).<br><br>Proven experience in fault finding and calibration of instrumentation (level, temperature, pressure, flow) and control systems including DCS, SCADA, and PLCs.<br><br>Skilled in working with control panels, wiring standards, motors, switchgear, variable speed drives, and circuit breakers.<br><br>Ability to read and interpret EC&I drawings, documents, and work safely under permit-to-work systems and risk assessments.<br><br>Experience working in fast-paced environments, managing planned and reactive maintenance to tight deadlines.<br><br>Personal skills Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.<br><br>Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and fixing issues.<br><br>Good communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the team and clients.<br><br>Salary and benefits of the EC&I Technician role Starting salary of up to £48,000 Benefits package including bonus of us to 5% Progression opportunities INDPOW Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.<br><br>We do not discriminate on the grounds of age, race, gender, disability, creed or sexual orientation and comply with all relevant UK legislation.<br><br>We encourage applications from individuals from all backgrounds but candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to work in the UK.<br><br>Astute is also committed to the government's Disability Confident Employer initiative. xwzovoh <br><br>We endeavour to get back to everyone, however, if you have not heard anything after 7 days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
