Design Engineer

<p>Exeter (on-site + client travel) | Full-time</p><p><br><br>To be considered for an interview, please make sure your application is full in line with the job specs as found below.<br></p><p>We’re searching for Application Engineer (Design/ Projects) to join an advanced manufacturing business working at the forefront of large-format additive manufacturing.</p><p>This is a customer-facing, end-to-end role owning projects from concept to delivery. You’ll lead technical decisions, guide feasibility, and coordinate production to ensure high-quality outcomes.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and optimise CAD designs (Fusion 360 or similar) for large-scale 3D printing</li><li>Apply mould tool design / tooling principles to ensure manufacturability</li><li>Define print strategies (toolpaths, supports, parameters)</li><li>Lead project delivery (timelines, risks, quality)</li><li>Act as technical lead for customers and support pre-sales feasibility</li><li>Coordinate with production teams to ensure on-time delivery</li></ul><p><strong>Key Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Strong CAD design experience (Fusion 360 or similar)</li><li>Background in mould tooling, pattern making, or tooling design</li><li>Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM)</li><li>Experience delivering technical projects and working with customers</li><li>Strong problem-solving and communication skills</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong> xwzovoh </p><ul><li>Additive manufacturing (LFAM / pellet extrusion)</li><li>Composites (GRP / CFRP)</li><li>CAM / CNC machining knowledge</li><li>Experience in aerospace, defence, or marine</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Why Apply?</p><p>Work with cutting-edge 3D printing & robotics</p><p>High-impact, hands-on technical leadership role</p><p>Exposure to complex projects across advanced industries</p><p>Growing, innovation-driven environment</p>
