<p>Job Description</p><br>Find out if this opportunity is a good fit by reading all of the information that follows below.<br><p>Contract Data Engineer (Azure / Databricks)</p><p>Remote (UK-based) | Occasional travel to Kent | Outside IR35 | 3-Month Initial Contract</p><p>Elevation Tech & Transformation are supporting a UK-based organisation undergoing a wider IT and data recovery programme, and they’re looking to bring in an experienced Data Engineer on a short-term contract to stabilise and improve their current data environment.</p><p>This is a hands-on role focused on back-end data engineering, working with fragmented and inconsistent data sets to create structure, reliability, and improved data availability for reporting.</p><p>The Role</p><ul><li>Work with complex, inconsistent data sets to improve structure and usability</li><li>Build and optimise data pipelines and transformations</li><li>Support the development of a more scalable and reliable data environment</li><li>Collaborate with a Solutions Architect and wider technical team</li><li>Prepare data for downstream reporting (Power BI handled separately)</li></ul><p>Requirements</p><ul><li>Strong SQL skills (essential)</li><li>Experience with Azure data environments (e.g. Data Factory, Azure SQL)</li><li>Exposure to Databricks (highly desirable)</li><li>Proven background in data engineering / ETL / ELT pipelines</li><li>Experience working in fast-paced or underdeveloped data environments</li><li>Ability to deliver impact quickly in a short-term contract xwzovoh role</li></ul><p>Additional Information</p><ul><li>Initial 3-month contract</li><li>Outside IR35 (initially)</li><li>Remote-first, with occasional travel (approx. once per month)</li><li>Immediate start preferred</li><li>Opportunity to make a visible impact in a business that needs rapid improvement</li></ul><p>If you’re an experienced Data Engineer who enjoys stepping into challenging environments and making things work quickly, we’d be keen to hear from you.</p>
