<p><strong>Data Centre Facilities Supervisor</strong></p><p><strong>Location: Chesterfield, England</strong></p><p><strong>Job Type: Full-time</strong></p><p><br><br>Scroll down the page to see all associated job requirements, and any responsibilities successful candidates can expect.<br></p><p>We are seeking a highly skilled <strong>Data Centre Facilities Supervisor</strong> to manage and maintain critical infrastructure, ensuring our data centres operate safely, securely, and efficiently at all times.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>As a Data Centre Facilities Supervisor, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and performance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems within a mission-critical environment. You will play a key role in ensuring uptime, compliance, and continuous improvement across all facility operations.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure including:</li><li>UPS systems, batteries, generators, PDUs</li><li>CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC systems</li><li>BMS/EMS monitoring and control systems</li><li>Manage electrical systems:</li><li>High/low voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, grounding</li><li>Manage mechanical systems:</li><li>HVAC, air handling units, ventilation, filtration, humidity and temperature control</li><li>Deliver planned preventive and predictive maintenance (PPM)</li><li>Lead incident response, fault diagnosis, and root cause analysis</li><li>Support change management, commissioning, and facility upgrades</li><li>Ensure integration and optimisation of building systems (BMS/EMS, SCADA, alarms)</li><li>Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards (LOTO, permits, fire systems)</li><li>Drive energy efficiency initiatives (PUE, cooling optimisation, sustainability targets)</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation (SOPs, drawings, asset registers, single-line diagrams)</li><li>Manage contractors, vendors, and service agreements</li><li>Support capital projects including planning, budgeting, commissioning, and handover</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>3–7 years’ experience in data centres or mission-critical environments</li><li>Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical infrastructure</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Technical Knowledge:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong understanding of:</li><li>Power systems (mains feeds, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS, ATS, PDUs)</li><li>Cooling systems (chillers, CRAC/CRAH, pump skids, HVAC)</li><li>BMS/PMS systems and monitoring tools</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (SLDs, P&IDs, schematics)</li><li>Knowledge of thermal management, energy efficiency, and data centre best practices</li><li>Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and data centre environments</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Electrical or Mechanical qualification (NVQ, ONC/OND, Degree or equivalent)</li><li>Relevant certifications xwzovoh such as IFMA, HVAC-R, or electrical safety training are advantageous</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Skills & Attributes</strong></p><ul><li>Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability</li><li>Clear communication and reporting skills</li><li>Excellent planning and organisational skills</li><li>Safety-focused with strong procedural adherence</li><li>Experience managing vendors and stakeholders</li><li>Ability to mentor and support junior team members</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Additional Information</strong></p><ul><li>Flexibility required for out-of-hours work during critical maintenance windows or incidents</li></ul><p><br></p><p>If you’re an experienced facilities professional looking to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment, we’d like to hear from you.
