<p>Job Description</p><br>Apply below after reading through all the details and supporting information regarding this job opportunity.<br><p>Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join their team</p><p>This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right candidate</p><p>You will</p><p>Deliver data-driven insight, procurement analysis, and benchmarking to support efficiency and improvement programmes within the business. The role identifies savings opportunities, improves value for money, and enables evidence-based decision-making across services.</p><p>Accountabilities</p><ul><li>Identify and quantify efficiency and savings opportunities alongside team members</li><li>Support procurement activity to achieve best value outcomes e,g softmarket testing</li><li>Deliver benchmarking to compare cost, performance, and productivity across similar Councils</li><li>Provide accurate reporting and tracking of savings and performance</li></ul><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Analyse financial, operational, and demand data to identify cost drivers and inefficiencies</li><li>Develop clear dashboards and reports (e.g. Excel, Power BI) to support decision-making</li><li>Conduct spend analysis to identify procurement savings (aggregation, renegotiation, sourcing)</li><li>Support procurement processes including data analysis, option appraisal, and bid evaluation</li><li>Lead benchmarking activity (internal/external) to highlight improvement opportunities</li><li>Translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders</li><li>Support business cases, forecasting, and scenario modelling</li></ul><p>Skills & Experience</p><ul><li>Strong data analysis and interpretation skills</li><li>Advanced Excel; experience with Power BI or similar tools</li><li>Understanding of procurement and commercial principles</li><li>Experience in benchmarking and performance analysis</li><li>Knowledge of financial data and cost drivers</li><li>Ability to communicate insights clearly and concisely</li></ul><p>Success Measures xwzovoh </p><ul><li>Delivery of appropriate insights that lead to measurable savings</li><li>Improved value for money through procurement support</li><li>Effective use of benchmarking to drive service improvement</li><li>Accuracy and reliability of data, reporting, and dashboards</li><li>Stakeholder confidence in analysis and outputs</li></ul><p>Outputs</p><ul><li>Dashboards and performance reports</li><li>Spend and procurement analysis</li><li>Benchmarking insights and comparisons</li><li>Savings tracking and variance reports</li><li>Analytical input to business cases</li></ul><p>PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS INSIDE SCOPE OF IR35</p><p>HYBRID WORKING AVAILABLE</p>
