Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading construction and development business to appoint a Construction Buyer.<br><br>Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.<br><br>This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a highly reputable business delivering a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors.<br><br>The Role The successful candidate will play a key role in the procurement function, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, plant, and subcontract services to support project delivery.<br><br>Key Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end procurement of construction materials, plant, and services, ensuring alignment with project specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.<br><br>Evaluate supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and secure commercially advantageous agreements in line with internal procurement policies.<br><br>Coordinate with operational and commercial teams to ensure procurement activities support project cost plans and delivery programmes.<br><br>Plan and forecast material requirements, identifying long-lead or business-critical items and mitigating potential supply risks.<br><br>Track market conditions, pricing trends, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and improved sustainability.<br><br>Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and key stakeholders across the supply chain.<br><br>Source and assess new suppliers to enhance supply chain capability, ensuring compliance with internal approval and governance procedures.<br><br>Monitor supplier performance, maintaining accurate records relating to quality, reliability, and service delivery.<br><br>Support the continuous improvement of procurement processes, ensuring adherence to quality, environmental, and health & safety management systems.<br><br>What you will need to succeed Previous experience in a buying or procurement role within the construction industry.<br><br>Strong negotiation and commercial awareness.<br><br>Excellent organisational and communication skills.<br><br>Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.<br><br>Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office packages. xwzovoh <br><br>For a confidential discussion on this opportunity, please apply via the link below or contact our procurement specialist Michael Irwin today.<br><br>Skills: construction buyer construction procurement buyer procurement purchasing belfast<br>TPBN1_NI
