<p><strong><u>Vehicle Inspector - Community Transport</u></strong></p><br>Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.<br> <p><strong><u>Job Description</u></strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Job title: </strong>Community Transport - Vehicle Inspector</p> <p><strong>Responsible to</strong>: Board of Trustees</p> <p><strong>Pay scale: volunteer – ST4 area</strong></p> <p><strong>Hours: 1 hour per day – early morning</strong></p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ol> <li> <p>Complete weekly safety checks on each vehicle a. exterior – bodywork, windscreen, windows, wheel nuts, tyre condition and pressure, fluid levels, operation of doors, lift and steps. b. interior – mirrors, wipers, washers, lights, brakes, seat belts, fire extinguishers, first aid kit, and wheelchair equipment. Necessary paperwork in vehicles including permits, breakdown details, driver reports, spare copies.</p> </li> </ol> <ol> <li> <p>Ensure vehicles are clean inside and out</p> </li> </ol> <ol> <li> <p>Ensure all completed paperwork is given to the Trustees each month.</p> </li> </ol> <ol> <li> <p>Take vehicles for repairs</p> </li> </ol> <ol> <li> <p>Maintain good working relationship with local garages, drivers, Journey Booking Administrator and trustees.</p> </li> </ol> <ol> <li> <p>Proactive approach to ensure all maintenance completed on time – MOT, Lift test, Services etc</p> </li> </ol> <ol> <li> <p>Any other work required by the Board of Trustees. xwzovoh </p> </li> </ol> <ol> <li> <p>The person much have basic mechanics knowledge to allow them to do daily vehicle inspections in line with DVLA written guidelines.</p> </li> </ol>
