You will be responsible for taking components from drawing through to finished part, ensuring high levels of precision, efficiency, and quality.</p><p><br></p><p>The position requires a highly experienced machinist/programmer with strong CAD/CAM capability, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work across both prototype and batch production environments.</p><p><br></p><p>Key responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Programming components using CAD/CAM software</li><li>Programming, setting, and operating 5 axis milling machines.</li><li>Producing complex aluminium components ranging from small to large formats.</li><li>Working across both prototype and low-to-high batch production runs.</li><li>Setting up fixtures, tooling, and machine parameters to ensure optimal performance.</li><li>Interpreting and working from detailed engineering drawings.</li><li>Ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Candidate Requirements</strong></p><p>The successful candidate will be a time-served CNC Programmer / Machinist with significant experience operating advanced 5 axis milling machines in a precision engineering environment.</p><p><br></p><p>Essential skills & experience:</p><ul><li>Time served apprenticeship with 7+ years’ post-training experience.</li><li>Strong CAD/CAM competence</li><li>Proven experience programming, setting, and operating 5 axis milling machines.</li><li>Experience working with Siemens controls.</li><li>Experience with Heidenhain is beneficial</li><li>Ability to machine aluminium components to tight tolerances.</li><li>Experience across both prototype and batch production work.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-sufficient approach.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>This is a senior-level role.
