<p>Job Description</p><br>Find out exactly what skills, experience, and qualifications you will need to succeed in this role before applying below.<br><p>Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – 6-month contract – Warwick</p><p>My Customer is looking for a Platform / Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of a hybrid technology estate spanning cloud and on-premise environments. This role combines hands-on operational support with technical leadership, driving platform improvements, modernisation initiatives, and ensuring a secure, stable, and scalable infrastructure.</p><p>Key Skills from the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer:</p><ul><li>Hybrid Platform Operations: Proven experience managing and supporting production environments across both cloud and on-premise infrastructure.</li><li>Cloud Platforms & Services: Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).</li><li>Exposure to decommissioning landing Zones.</li><li>On-Premise Infrastructure</li><li>Strong background in Windows Server environments and core services such as Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.</li><li>Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V.</li><li>Operational Support & Incident Management</li><li>Governance & Cost Management - Azure</li><li>Understanding of governance frameworks, cost optimisation strategies, and usage monitoring across cloud and hybrid platforms.</li><li>Experience with Infrastructure as a code would  be beneficial</li></ul><p>Key Responsibilities from the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer:</p><ul><li>Manage day-to-day operations of hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, ensuring performance and reliability.</li><li>Drive cloud modernisation, including migration from legacy Azure environments.</li><li>Administer and optimise cloud platforms (accounts, networking, identity, security, services).</li><li>Support on-prem infrastructure, including Windows Server, core services, virtualisation, and connectivity.</li><li>Act as an escalation point for incidents, leading troubleshooting and root cause analysis.</li><li>Apply security best practices using automation and Infrastructure as Code.</li><li>Implement and improve governance, cost control, and compliance standards.</li><li>Promote best practices in monitoring, backup, resilience, and disaster recovery.</li><li>Collaborate with architecture and security teams to align with organisational standards.</li><li>Maintain documentation, procedures, and platform standards.</li><li>Resolve complex hybrid infrastructure and connectivity issues with cross-team support.</li></ul><p>The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is required to work on a basis hybrid in Warwick.</p><p>Apply now to speak with VIQU IT in confidence.
