Civils Site Manager - Sub Station Project

We are seeking an experienced Civils Site Manager to lead day-to-day site delivery on a live substation environment, working to National Grid standards.</p><p>This role requires strong site leadership, a proactive approach to health and safety, and proven experience managing civils works in high-risk environments.</p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Day-to-day management of site operatives, subcontractors, and all site activities</li><li>Development and implementation of safety documentation, including Construction Phase Plans, Site Quality Plans, and RAMS</li><li>Preparation of daily Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and allocation of labour</li><li>Producing and maintaining Site Specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements</li><li>Delivering site inductions, Toolbox Talks, and Daily Briefings</li><li>Conducting regular site inspections to ensure full compliance with health, safety, and quality requirements</li><li>Developing and maintaining project schedules to ensure timely completion of works</li><li>Attending and contributing to weekly progress and coordination meetings</li><li>Communicating effectively with subcontractors and on-site client representatives</li><li>Resolving site issues and conflicts efficiently as they arise</li><li>Ensuring quality control measures are implemented throughout the project lifecycle</li><li>Maintaining a high standard of documentation, records, labour returns, and site diary information</li></ul><p>Essential Requirements:</p><ul><li>Proven experience working as a Civils Site Manager / PCSM on National Grid projects</li><li>National Grid NSI 6 and NSI 8 authorisations</li><li>HSG47 (Substations environment)</li><li>Lifting Supervisor certification</li><li>Manual Handling</li><li>Strong understanding of site safety legislation and National Grid procedures</li></ul><p>What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career. xwzovoh </p><p>Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
