<p>We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Bridge Inspector to join our Operational team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional looking to further develop their structural inspection knowledge, programme management capabilities, and leadership experience within a dynamic environment.</p><p><br><br>Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.<br></p><p>Reporting to the Inspections Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking Principal and General Inspections in accordance with CS450 standards. The role combines both office and site-based responsibilities, including planning inspections, carrying out surveys, producing detailed reports, and supporting junior team members.</p><p><br></p><p>The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring inspections are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Undertake General and Principal Inspections on a range of structures</li><li>Carry out desktop studies and site surveys on structures</li><li>Prepare and review RAMS documentation for inspections</li><li>Promote and maintain safe working practices in line with company Health & Safety policies</li><li>Organise plant, equipment, and inspection materials</li><li>Produce inspection reports using systems such as Bridgestation, BCI forms, and traditional handwritten methods</li><li>Monitor inspection progress against programme and cost targets</li><li>Support KPI, QA, and reporting compliance to maintain high client satisfaction</li><li>Lead inspection teams and deliver site briefings</li><li>Supervise and mentor junior inspectors where appropriate</li><li>Assist with weak bridge monitoring activities</li><li>Attend and support network incidents and emergency response activities when required</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>We are looking for someone who is:</p><ul><li>Professional, reliable, and safety conscious</li><li>An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills</li><li>Able to work independently and lead small teams effectively</li><li>Adaptable, proactive, and resourceful</li><li>Passionate about learning, development, and sharing knowledge with others</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Skills & Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum 5 years’ experience scheduling, planning, and undertaking structures inspections</li><li>Experience preparing detailed inspection reports</li><li><strong>Strong understanding xwzovoh of:</strong> Principal defects, concrete defects, steel defects, masonry defects, miscellaneus material defects</li><li>Experience producing defect sketches and diagrams</li><li>Full clean UK Driving Licence</li><li>First Aid qualification</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Desirable Qualifications & Certifications</strong></p><ul><li>Confined Space Certificate</li><li>Personal Track Safety (PTS) Certificate</li><li>Civil Engineering qualification (ONC minimum, HNC/HND preferred)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p><p>This role offers the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of structures projects while developing your technical expertise and leadership skills within a supportive team environment.</p>
