<p>Job Description</p><br>Experience, qualification, and soft skills, have you got everything required to succeed in this opportunity Find out below.<br><p>Inclusion Mentor/Behaviour Support</p><p>Salary: Competitive day rate based on Pro RataHours: 37.5 hours per week, term-time only (8.00am–4.00pm)Start date: As soon as possibleLocation: West Sussex (11–18 secondary school)</p><p>An ambitious and inclusive secondary school on the south coast of West Sussex is seeking to appoint a confident, enthusiastic and resilient Inclusion Mentor to support students facing barriers to learning and engagement.</p><p>This role is based within a School Provision, working as part of a committed and experienced team. You will support vulnerable and sometimes challenging students, helping them to re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.</p><p>The Role</p><p>As an Inclusion Mentor, you will:</p><ul><li>Support students at risk of exclusion to overcome barriers to learning</li><li>Work with individuals and small groups to improve behaviour, self-esteem and engagement</li><li>Deliver and support structured interventions, including literacy and numeracy</li><li>Help students develop independence, resilience and positive learning behaviours</li><li>Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents/carers and external agencies</li><li>Promote student wellbeing, inclusion and safeguarding at all times</li></ul><p>The Ideal Candidate</p><p>You will be:</p><ul><li>Calm, patient and consistent, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people</li><li>Confident in managing behaviour and supporting students in challenging circumstances</li><li>A strong communicator who works well as part of a team and independently</li><li>Passionate about inclusion and committed to helping every young person succeed</li></ul><p>Essential requirements:</p><ul><li>GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths</li><li>Ability to work positively with children and young people</li><li>DBS on the Update Service xwzovoh </li><li>Right to work in the UK</li></ul><p>Desirable:</p><ul><li>Experience working in a school or with young people</li><li>Experience supporting students with social, emotional or behavioural needs</li><li>Relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience</li></ul><p>What We Offer</p><ul><li>Competitive pay and generous pension scheme</li><li>Excellent professional development and training opportunities</li><li>Additional planning and INSET days</li><li>A supportive, values-led culture focused on inclusion and wellbeing</li><li>Access to a wide range of staff benefits, including health and wellbeing support</li></ul>
