<p>Job Description</p><br>Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.<br><p>Assembly Technician – Electric Vehicle Technology | £12.98 per hour| Leatherhead (On-Site)</p><p>Reed Engineering are currently recruiting for Assembly Technicians to join an award-winning British engineering company that’s developing zero-emission, battery and solar-powered transport refrigeration units (TRUs) to replace diesel systems.</p><p>This is a hands-on assembly role, based 5 days a week on site in Leatherhead, working within a growing production team to build a cutting-edge product that’s already in use by major brands such as Tesco, Ocado, and Birds Eye.</p><p>Role details</p><ul><li>Position: Assembly Technician</li><li>Location: Leatherhead, Surrey</li><li>Salary: £27,000</li><li>Contract: 2-month Fixed-Term Contract</li><li>Working pattern: Fully on-site</li></ul><p>What you’ll be doing</p><ul><li>Building production Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs)</li><li>Supporting kitting for development and production builds</li><li>Working to detailed assembly instructions, drawings, and CAD models</li><li>Troubleshooting assembly issues and maintaining build documentation</li><li>Maintaining quality, traceability, and health & safety standards</li><li>Supporting continuous improvement activities within production</li></ul><p>What we’re looking for</p><ul><li>At least 1 year’s hands-on experience in automotive, prototype build, motorsport, aerospace, or commercial vehicles</li><li>Strong practical assembly skills (mechanical or electro-mechanical)</li><li>Ability to work accurately from drawings and instructions</li><li>Good awareness of health & safety and PPE</li></ul><p>Nice to have (not essential):</p><ul><li>Electrical or wiring/harnessing experience (LV/HV)</li><li>Automated assembly exposure</li><li>Forklift licence</li></ul><p>Our client has been named Sunday Times Best Place to Work 2024 and 2025 and is scaling manufacturing globally—this is a great opportunity to gain experience with a genuinely innovative product in a fast-moving environment. xwzovoh </p><p>If you've got a background in assembly or fitting and would like to be considered for this position, please apply today! </p>
