<p>Job Description</p><br>Learn more about the general tasks related to this opportunity below, as well as required skills.<br><p>Applications Support Engineer (Enterprise Systems) Grangemouth (site-based, 5 days per week) 37.5 hours per week 6-month PAYE contract (with a view to extend) Rate: Competitive (dependent on experience)</p><p>The Opportunity</p><p>MRD Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading global manufacturing business to recruit an Applications Support Engineer based at their Grangemouth site.</p><p>This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large-scale, complex industrial environment where you'll play a key role in supporting and maintaining business-critical applications across multiple business units.</p><p>The Role</p><p>You'll be responsible for the support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a wide range of applications, from desktop software through to enterprise-level systems, within a Microsoft Windows environment.</p><p>Key responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Supporting and troubleshooting business-critical applications</li><li>Managing and resolving incidents, including system outages</li><li>Assisting with application implementations, upgrades, and testing</li><li>Ensuring systems meet performance, security, and SLA requirements</li><li>Creating and maintaining technical documentation and support procedures</li><li>Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives</li><li>Supporting small-scale IT projects and system enhancements</li></ul><p>You'll also participate in an on-call rota as part of the wider Applications team.</p><p>About You</p><p>We're looking for someone with strong application support experience in a complex, enterprise environment. xwzovoh </p><p>Essential:</p><ul><li>Experience supporting desktop, client-server, and web-based applications</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills</li><li>Experience working in a Windows-based environment</li><li>Ability to prioritise and manage multiple support requests</li><li>Experience supporting both bespoke and third-party applications</li><li>Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills</li></ul><p>Desirable:</p><ul><li>Scripting or development exposure (e.g. PowerShell, VBA, JavaScript, .NET)</li><li>Experience with databases (SQL Server, Oracle)</li><li>Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure)</li><li>Familiarity with SharePoint, Power Platform, or BI tools</li><li>Understanding of ITSM tools and ITIL processes</li><li>Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or regulated environments</li></ul><p>Why Apply?</p><ul><li>Work in a large-scale, technically complex environment</li><li>Exposure to a broad range of systems and technologies</li><li>Opportunity to contribute to critical business systems and projects</li><li>Potential for contract extension</li></ul>
