<p><strong>ASIC Design Engineer</strong></p><p>Edinburgh, UK</p><p>Onsite (minimum 3 days per week)</p><p><br><br>Have you got the right qualifications and skills for this job Find out below, and hit apply to be considered.<br></p><p>This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ASIC Design Engineer (5+ years) to join a small, highly focused team in Edinburgh. The team is developing high-value silicon for what aims to be the world’s first space-based mobile broadband network.</p><p><br></p><p>You will be part of a collaborative engineering group working on next-generation silicon, leveraging advanced process technologies to push performance, efficiency, and capability. This is a hands-on role where your design decisions will have a direct impact on delivering a global communications network from space.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><p>As an ASIC Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design and implementation of complex silicon solutions used in space-based communication systems. The role focuses on high-quality RTL development, micro-architecture definition, and close collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines.</p><p>You will work closely with architecture, verification, and system teams—both internal and external—to deliver robust, high-performance ASIC and SoC designs from concept through to tape-out.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Develop high-quality micro-architecture specifications and RTL designs</li><li>Contribute to SoC integration and subsystem development</li><li>Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across design flows</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of ASIC/RTL design experience</li><li>Strong understanding of hardware and digital design fundamentals</li><li>Proficiency in SystemVerilog</li><li>Experience with SoC integration</li><li>Background in complex RTL design (e.g. high-speed I/O, CPUs, accelerators, or NoCs)</li><li>Ability to produce clear, high-quality micro-architecture documentation</li><li>Competency in Python</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><ul><li>Digital signal processing (DSP) experience</li><li>Background in mobile silicon or communications systems</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What’s on Offer</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive base salary and RSU package</li><li>Opportunity to work on genuinely groundbreaking technology</li><li>A chance to be part of a fast-moving, start-up environment at the forefront of innovation</li></ul><p><br></p><p>This role is best suited to engineers motivated by building cutting-edge technology rather than purely financial gain.
