Workshop Technician<br /><br />Location - Kirkwall<br /><br />Hours - 37.5 hours<br /><br />Join our Workshop Team.<br /><br />At Macgregor Industrial Supplies, we're looking for someone practical, hands -on and customer focused to join our team as a Workshop Technician.<br /><br />We're looking for a skilled Technician to work on a wide range of machinery including Honda ATV.<br /><br /> The Role <br /><br />You'll be at the heart of the operation making sure the equipment is serviced, repaired and ready to go.<br /><br />What you'll be doing:<br /><br /> To diagnose faults, service and repair to Departmental and Company standards.<br /><br /> To identify and order, when necessary, the required materials for Hire and Service repairs and be able to quote customer if required.<br /><br /> Keep up to date with all franchise diagnostic software where applicable.<br /><br /> Ensure work is carried out is in a timely manner.<br /><br /> Set up and operate equipment following manufacturers' guidelines and/or procedures<br /><br /> Maintain accurate records of works undertaken including job tickets, timesheets and service records in all formats.<br /><br /> Clock on and off all jobs as to keep an accurate record of work done daily<br /><br /> Where applicable carry out pre-delivery inspections for equipment<br /><br /> Workshop tidiness is essential work bay must be always kept clean and tidy.<br /><br /> Follow MIS health and safety regulations.<br /><br /> Maintain tools, plant and equipment in a clean and workable condition.<br /><br /> Ensure the general security of tools, plant and equipment and of workshop areas.<br /><br /> May be required to carry out additional tasks relevant to your role<br /><br /> Will be required to work at other branches when needed<br /><br /> Respond to Emergency Call outs during working hours<br /><br /> Responsible for any assigned vehicle's maintenance checks daily, reporting defects or similar to the line manager as soon as possible<br /><br />What we're looking for<br /><br />We're looking for someone practical, reliable and proud of the work they do.<br /><br />You'll ideally have:<br /><br /> Vocational qualification, e.g., HND/HNC, City & Guilds and/or SVQ Level 2/3 in relevant subject (or equivalent)<br /><br /> Experience in 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines, lawnmowers, Ground Care, Professional golf equipment and Quad bikes etc. preferred<br /><br /> Good mechanical and electrical knowledge and understanding<br /><br /> Full Valid Driving License<br /><br /> IT Literate and have good analytical and problem-solving skills<br /><br /> Good communication and interpersonal skills<br /><br /> Responding to new pressures, adjusting priorities as needed<br /><br /> Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy and as part of a team<br /><br /> Ability to respond positively to new challenges and change<br /><br />Why join MacGregor Industrial Supplies?<br /><br />We're a business built on strong values and practical Delivery:<br /><br /> Do the Right Thing - we act with integrity<br /><br /> Be the Best - we take pride in what we do<br /><br /> Customer First - we deliver when it matters<br /><br /> Community Spirit - we support each other<br /><br /> Future Focus - we keep improving<br /><br />What you'll get:<br /><br /> 37.5-hour working week<br /><br /> Ongoing training and development<br /><br /> A supportive, team-focused environment<br /><br /> The opportunity to work with a wide range of professional equipment<br /><br /> A role where your work has real impact every day<br /><br />Job Types: Full-time, Permanent<br /><br />Benefits:<br /> Cycle to work scheme<br /> Employee discount<br /> Enhanced maternity leave<br /> Health & wellbeing programme<br /> On-site parking<br /><br />Work Location: In person<img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?Ae5qx6keinwy%2bR2GmkAwfkd1UvIiTixWs" width="0" height="0" />
