<p><strong>Senior Electronics Systems Engineer - Radar (High Hourly rate Contract) </strong></p><p>Work on technology that matters. This is a high-impact opportunity supporting a nationally significant programme at the forefront of advanced radar systems.</p><p>We're looking for a <strong>Senior Electronics Systems Engineer</strong> with strong <strong>FPGA and digital electronics expertise</strong> to play a critical role in the development of next-generation radar capability. You'll operate at a senior technical level, influencing design decisions and shaping system performance across the full engineering lifecycle.</p><p><strong>What you'll be doing:</strong></p><ul><li>Driving <strong>FPGA-based and digital electronics system design</strong> for advanced radar applications</li><li>Working closely with the <strong>System Design Authority</strong> to define and deliver system architecture</li><li>Leading technical input across <strong>requirements, integration, verification, and validation</strong></li><li>Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across <strong>RF, software, mechanical, and digital domains</strong></li><li>Supporting key engineering decisions, including <strong>COTS vs bespoke solutions</strong></li><li>Contributing to the development of cutting-edge <strong>AESA radar systems</strong></li></ul><p><strong>What we're looking for (core skills):</strong></p><ul><li>Strong background in <strong>electronics engineering with systems-level thinking</strong></li><li>Proven experience in <strong>FPGA development and high-speed digital design</strong></li><li>Hands-on expertise with <strong>AMD/Xilinx toolchains (Vivado, Vitis)</strong></li><li>Experience working with advanced FPGA platforms (e.g. <strong>Versal, Zynq UltraScale+</strong>)</li></ul><p> <strong>Nice to have:</strong></p><ul><li>Radar systems knowledge or <strong>signal/data analysis (MATLAB)</strong></li><li>Experience in <strong>integration, verification, or high-integrity environments</strong> (e.g. defence, aerospace)</li></ul><p><strong>Contract details:</strong></p><ul><li>Initial <strong>6-month contract</strong> (strong potential for extension)</li><li><strong>£80+ per hour (DOE)</strong></li><li><strong>One-stage telephone interview process</strong></li><li> Monday - Thursday onsite in Chelmsford </li></ul><p><strong>Important:</strong> Due to the sensitive nature of the programme, this role requires <strong>eligibility for UK SC clearance</strong>.
