<p><strong>Locations: </strong>Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle upon Tyne, Telford, Worthing and Stratford</p> <p>HMRC are recruiting <strong>Senior Enterprise Architects</strong> to help shape how technology supports borders, trade and taxation, across one of the <strong>largest and most complex operational environments in the public sector</strong>.</p> <p>As a Senior Enterprise Architect within the <strong>Borders & Trade</strong> domain, you'll operate at the intersection of <strong>policy, business and technology</strong>, setting architectural direction that ensures services are secure, scalable and sustainable.</p> <p><strong>What you'll be doing</strong></p> <p>In this role, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Own and evolve <strong>enterprise architecture strategy</strong> for the Borders & Trade domain</li> <li>Define and govern architectural <strong>principles, standards, roadmaps and reference architectures</strong> </li> <li>Provide enterprise level assurance and decision support on major technology investments</li> <li>Guide architectural decision making, clearly explaining <strong>trade offs, risks and benefits</strong> </li> <li>Influence policy and technical direction across enterprise operations</li> <li>Horizon scan emerging technologies, trends and sourcing models</li> <li>Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across business, technology and commercial teams</li> <li>Promote innovation while reducing technical complexity and improving resilience and security</li> <li>Support and strengthen <strong>enterprise architecture capability</strong> across HMRC</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who this role is ideal for</strong></p> <p>This role is well suited to someone who:</p> <ul> <li>Has significant experience operating as an <strong>Enterprise Architect</strong> (or equivalent)</li> <li>Has shaped architecture strategy and roadmaps for <strong>large scale platforms or services</strong> </li> <li>Is confident developing and governing architectural standards and principles</li> <li>Thinks beyond individual systems to understand <strong>whole enterprise impact</strong> </li> <li>Is comfortable supporting complex decisions and balancing risk, value and sustainability</li> <li>Can engage and influence senior stakeholders, explaining complex concepts clearly</li> <li>Is curious about emerging technologies and how they can be applied at scale</li> </ul> <p>Experience with <strong>cloud platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)</strong> and professional architecture practices or qualifications is particularly valuable.</p> <p><strong>Interested?</strong></p> <p>This is a snapshot of the role.<br> For full details, essential criteria and how to apply, <strong>click through to Civil Service Jobs</strong>.</p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?sFiDUbGRNFcl99zwaVnfX%2fojyL7kYHtGi" width="0" height="0" />
