<p><strong>SENDCo Needed!</strong></p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> £35,000 - £50,000 per year<strong>Contract:</strong> Permanent<strong>Start Date:</strong> April/May<strong>Location:</strong> Somerset</p><p>No teaching responsibilities</p><p></p><p><strong>Reed Education are delighted to be working with a well-established independent special education provision in Somerset to recruit an experienced and qualified SENDCo.</strong></p><p>This specialist provision supports pupils aged 7-19, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require tailored, therapeutic educational approaches to meet complex needs. The school offers a nurturing, structured environment and is recognised for providing high-quality support to pupils with Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), and a range of additional learning needs.</p><p>The provision operates across two sites in Somerset and is part of a wider education group known for its therapeutic, individualised learning environment and commitment to helping every pupil achieve their full potential. The school has a strong ethos around personalised support, positive behaviour, wellbeing, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.</p><p></p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>Due to growth within the provision, we are seeking an experienced and motivated SENDCo to lead and manage SEND provision across the school.</p><p>As SENDCo, you will:</p><ul><li>Oversee SEND strategy and provision for a diverse cohort of pupils with complex needs</li><li>Work closely with teachers, support staff, therapists, and senior leaders to ensure an inclusive, high-quality learning experience</li><li>Lead on EHCP reviews, assessments, individual support plans, and external agency liaison</li><li>Provide guidance, coaching, and training to staff regarding best practice in SEND</li><li>Ensure compliance with statutory SEND responsibilities and safeguarding requirements</li><li>Support whole-school development in line with its therapeutic and child-centred ethos</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>To be successful, you will need:</p><ul><li><strong>NASENCo qualification</strong> (essential)</li><li><strong>Minimum 4 years' experience</strong> working within a similar special school, specialist provision, or SEN-focused unit (essential)</li><li>Strong understanding of EHCP processes, SEND legislation, and multi-agency working</li><li>Experience supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, and complex learning needs</li><li>Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills</li><li>A child-centred approach with a passion for transforming educational outcomes</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>What the Provision Offers</strong></p><ul><li>A therapeutic, specialist environment with a strong focus on individual needs</li><li>Supportive senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams</li><li>Opportunities for continued professional development</li><li>A collaborative, positive working culture</li><li>The chance to make a meaningful impact within a growing provision</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Interested?</strong></p><p>If you have the required experience and qualifications and are looking for your next step as a SENDCo, we would love to hear from you!</p><p>Please note, successful applicants will undergo pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.</p><p>Reed Education is deeply committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults.
