<strong>SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)</strong><p><strong>Location:</strong> West London<strong>Contract:</strong> Full-time, Permanent<strong>Start Date:</strong> September 2025<strong>Salary:</strong> £23,703 - £28,252 (actual)<strong>Positions Available:</strong> Multiple</p><strong>About the Role</strong><p>An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with additional needs. The school is dedicated to ensuring every pupil can reach their full potential, regardless of their starting point, within a nurturing and inclusive environment.</p><p>You will work as part of a skilled and supportive team, delivering tailored learning activities and supporting students with a range of needs, including autism and complex learning difficulties.</p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Deliver learning activities and lessons under the guidance of a qualified teacher</li><li>Support pupils with special educational needs, including communication and sensory needs</li><li>Implement strategies such as visual timetables and structured interventions</li><li>Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning</li><li>Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and support teams</li></ul><strong>Essential Requirements</strong><ul><li>HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualification</li><li>Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly autism and/or severe learning difficulties</li><li>Confidence in leading learning activities</li><li>Strong understanding of SEND strategies and interventions</li></ul><strong>Desirable Skills</strong><ul><li>Training in behaviour management approaches (e.g. Team Teach)</li><li>Experience with communication systems such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC</li><li>Knowledge of safeguarding procedures within education settings</li></ul><strong>What's on Offer</strong><ul><li>Competitive salary based on experience</li><li>Ongoing professional development and training opportunities</li><li>Clear progression pathways</li><li>Supportive and collaborative working environment</li></ul><strong>Safeguarding</strong><p>The organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
