<p>Learning Support Assistant</p><ul><li>Location: Rural Burgess Hill, West Sussex</li><li>Daily Rate: Circa £120 </li><li>Job Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only</li><li>School provided free shuttle bus from Brighton</li></ul><p>Join our specialist school as a Learning Support Assistant, dedicated to supporting students aged 11-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a calm, structured environment and is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.</p><p>Day-to-day of the role:</p><ul><li>Support students in lessons to help them access learning and stay engaged.</li><li>Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social interaction.</li><li>Assist with lesson delivery, both in small groups and 1:1 settings.</li><li>Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.</li><li>Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of progress and support individual learning plans.</li></ul><p>Required Skills & Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Experience working with children or young people, ideally those with ASD or other special educational needs.</li><li>Knowledge of the National Curriculum and how it can be adapted for learners with additional needs.</li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills.</li><li>Ability to work flexibly and creatively to meet individual student needs.</li><li>Commitment to safeguarding and professional development.</li><li>GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade A-C or equivalent).</li><li>Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or willingness to train).</li><li>Understanding of safeguarding, SEN, and inclusive education.</li><li>A clean driving licence is desirable but not essential.</li></ul><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Competitive daily rate.</li><li>Term-time only schedule for better work-life balance.</li><li>Supportive team culture with ongoing training and development.</li><li>A chance to make a lasting impact in a specialist school setting.</li></ul><p>To apply for this Learning Support Assistant position, please submit your up-to-date CV detailing your relevant experience and qualifications.
