Second in English - North Hampshire<strong>Full time, permanent contract, September 2026 start</strong><p>Quantum Scholars are working closely with a well-regarded secondary school in North Hampshire who are seeking a <strong>Second in English</strong> to join their team on a permanent basis from September 2026.</p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for a current English teacher looking to take the next step in their teaching career.</p><p>The school is known for its collaborative and welcoming culture, where staff are supported to thrive both professionally and personally. The school is rated <strong>"Good" by Ofsted</strong>, with <strong>'Outstanding' in three of the four categories</strong>.</p><strong>About the Role</strong><p>As Second in English, you will play a key role within the department, supporting the Head of English in leading and developing a dynamic team. You will also be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, while helping to shape and enhance the English curriculum.</p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Teach engaging and high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4</li><li>Support the Head of English in leading, developing, and motivating the department</li><li>Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad, ambitious, and forward-thinking English curriculum</li><li>Monitor student progress and support strategies to raise attainment</li><li>Provide guidance and support to colleagues within the department</li><li>Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and classroom behaviour</li><li>Contribute to departmental planning, meetings, and whole-school initiatives</li><li>Support extracurricular activities such as reading groups, interventions, or enrichment programmes</li></ul><strong>Requirements</strong><ul><li>Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent</li><li>Strong experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3 & KS4 essential)</li><li>A strong track record of delivering good or outstanding teaching and learning</li><li>A passion for English and the ability to inspire and engage students</li><li>An interest in progressing into a leadership role within a department</li><li>Strong organisational and communication skills</li><li>A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to wider school life</li><li>Right to work in the UK</li></ul><p>This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious English teacher ready to take the next step within a supportive and high-performing school.</p><p>If you would like to find out more, please apply via this advert and one of our consultants will be in touch.</p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?tlzr8rwHHkLtL6W5cy009FYjJwEnPLvwb" width="0" height="0" />
