<p><strong>Science Technician</strong></p><p><strong>Start Date:</strong> September 2026<strong>Contract:</strong> Full time, term time only</p><p><strong>Pay:</strong> £15 - £20 per hour</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Greenwich, South East London </p><p><strong>Purpose of the Role</strong></p><p>At Remedy we are looking for a science technician to support the effective delivery of science education within a school in Greenwich by preparing practical materials, maintaining laboratories and equipment, ensuring health and safety compliance, and assisting teaching staff in creating a stimulating and safe learning environment for pupils.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Practical Preparation & Lesson Support</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare, set up, and clear away materials and equipment for science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.</li><li>Support teachers during practical sessions when required, including demonstrations of equipment use.</li><li>Develop and trial practical activities and resources to support curriculum delivery.</li></ul><p><strong>Laboratory Management</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain laboratories, prep rooms, and storage areas to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.</li><li>Ensure accurate stock control of chemicals, consumables, and equipment; place orders as needed in consultation with the Head of Science.</li><li>Carry out routine calibration, testing, and maintenance of equipment.</li></ul><p><strong>Person Specification</strong></p><p><strong>Essential</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working in a laboratory environment (school, industrial, or academic).</li><li>Good scientific knowledge across at least one discipline (biology, chemistry, or physics).</li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads independently.</li><li>Understanding of laboratory safety and safe handling of equipment and chemicals.</li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable</strong></p><ul><li>Previous experience as a school science technician.</li><li>A relevant science qualification (A-levels, BTEC, or degree-level).</li><li>Familiarity with CLEAPSS guidance and school laboratory procedures.</li><li>Ability to contribute to extracurricular STEM activities.</li></ul><p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive daily rates </li><li>Flexible work to suit your availability</li><li>Refer a friend and earn £100 for Nursery/TA & £125 for Qualified Teacher</li><li>Flexibility</li><li>Pension (Optional)</li></ul><p><strong>Alternatively, if this job is not for you then please still get in touch with us for other roles or refer it to a friend who might be interested in this role! </strong></p><p>Remedy are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants will be subject to a full face-to-face registration and an Enhanced DBS (Formerly known as CRB).</p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?SWtLklruwzIKgoJIhxJSRDo0N9IN29vjw" width="0" height="0" />
