<strong>Production Supervisor</strong><strong>Luton</strong><strong>Permanent Role</strong><strong>8am - 5pm Monday to Friday</strong><strong>Salary up to £36k </strong><p></p><strong>Production Supervisor</strong><strong>About the Role</strong><p>We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Luton. This is a key role for someone who is confident leading a team on the shop floor and keeping production running smoothly. You'll be the go-to person for your team during the shift - balancing output targets, quality standards, people management and day-to-day problem solving.</p><p></p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><p><strong>Production & Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Coordinate daily production activities to meet output targets and deadlines</li><li>Allocate labour, materials and equipment to maintain a smooth workflow</li><li>Resolve operational issues quickly to minimise downtime</li><li>Ensure machinery is operated correctly and in line with maintenance schedules</li><li>Liaise with the maintenance team to address breakdowns and prevent recurring problems</li></ul><p><strong>People Management</strong></p><ul><li>Supervise, coach and support production operatives during shifts</li><li>Deliver or coordinate training on safety, quality and operational procedures</li><li>Manage attendance, lateness and performance with clear, consistent communication</li></ul><p><strong>Quality & Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure all products meet quality specifications and standards</li><li>Implement corrective and preventive actions where required</li><li>Enforce safe working practices and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements</li></ul><p><strong>Reporting & Planning</strong></p><ul><li>Track key production metrics including output, scrap, downtime and labour efficiency</li><li>Prepare shift reports and communicate any issues to management</li><li>Develop a working understanding of production planning to provide cover during holidays and absences</li></ul><strong>About You</strong><p><strong>Essential:</strong></p><ul><li>Previous supervisory or team leader experience in a manufacturing or production environment</li><li>Confident managing people, including handling performance and attendance matters</li><li>Strong communication skills - able to get the best out of a team while keeping management informed</li><li>Practical approach to problem-solving on the shop floor</li><li>Good understanding of health and safety in a manufacturing setting</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience monitoring production KPIs and preparing basic reports</li><li>Familiarity with quality control procedures</li><li>Exposure to production planning or scheduling</li></ul><strong>What We're Looking For</strong><p>someone who leads by example, isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up, and can keep a team motivated and on track.
