Principal Linux/Android Platform Developer

<p>We're hiring a Principal Linux / Android Platform Developer to join a highly respected engineering team building mission-critical communication devices used by emergency services, transport networks, and infrastructure organisations worldwide.</p><p>This isn't app development. This is low-level, platform engineering on products that need to perform in the real world, where reliability is essential.</p><p></p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>You'll play a key role in developing and evolving Android-based embedded platforms used in next-generation communication devices.</p><p>This is a broad, hands-on platform role, working across Linux and Android to solve complex system-level challenges.</p><p>You'll be involved in:</p><ul><li>Android platform development (AOSP) </li><li>Linux kernel and system-level programming </li><li>Platform configuration, optimisation and tuning </li><li>Android framework and service-level changes </li><li>Performance, latency and power optimisation </li><li>Debugging, profiling and system analysis </li><li>Integration, testing and issue resolution </li><li>Contributing to technical design and architecture </li></ul><p></p><p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p><p>We're looking for a strong engineer with experience across Linux and Android platform development, ideally within embedded or device-based environments.</p><p>Key skills:</p><ul><li>Strong understanding of Android internals and architecture </li><li>Experience working with AOSP </li><li>Solid Linux systems / kernel experience </li><li>Strong C++ development skills </li><li>Experience with embedded or battery-powered devices </li><li>Experience optimising system performance and behaviour </li></ul><p></p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?NNcQ65VzYn1QbgGW4UOLluTevqiVMjwdz" width="0" height="0" />
