Job description
<p><strong>Location:</strong> Croydon, Manchester, Sheffield</p> <p>Home Office Digital designs and runs services that support <strong>millions of visa and passport applications</strong>, border checks, and policing checks each year. As a <strong>Principal Data Engineer</strong>, you'll lead multi-functional teams to deliver robust data services, helping unlock value from data and deliver better outcomes for the UK.</p> <p><strong>What you'll be doing</strong><br> You'll provide technical direction and leadership within the <strong>Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Data Platform</strong> team, shaping high-quality data products and services. This includes:</p> <ul> <li>Setting and driving the <strong>EPM data strategy and roadmap</strong>, including governance and best practice</li> <li>Leading delivery of <strong>data integrations and data flows</strong> across Oracle EPM and connected systems (e.g., ERP/HCM, data warehouses, analytics platforms)</li> <li>Ensuring data services support <strong>planning, forecasting, financial and HR reporting</strong> outcomes</li> <li>Improving reliability and performance by <strong>automating BAU processes</strong> and strengthening data quality end-to-end</li> <li>Working across teams (product, solution/data architects, DBAs) to define standards and enforce patterns across the Oracle EPM landscape</li> <li>Coaching and mentoring others to build capability across the data engineering community</li> </ul> <p><strong>What we're looking for</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong functional + technical experience across <strong>Oracle EPM modules</strong> (e.g., Planning, EDM, Narrative Reporting, FCCS, PCMCS, ARCS)</li> <li>Experience designing and governing <strong>EPM integrations</strong> (including tools such as <strong>EPM Automate</strong>, Oracle Data Integration, REST APIs and relevant scripting)</li> <li>Confidence leading teams and working in complex environments (including multi-supplier/support models)</li> <li>Strong stakeholder skills, able to explain complex technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences</li> <li>Experience aligning delivery with public sector governance requirements (e.g., data governance policies, spend controls, value for money principles)</li> <li>A genuine passion for data, continuous improvement and building high-performing teams</li> </ul> <p><strong>Interested?</strong><br> This partner post gives you a quick overview </p> <p>Click through to the full Civil Service Jobs advert to find out more and apply.</p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?kvKO%2fmG%2frVqE%2b1tDotq%2fv7L%2bXPRzXOCXg" width="0" height="0" />
