Job Title: OT Maintenance TechnicianWork Type: Contract (6 month)Location: Exeter (Hybrid)<strong>Role Overview</strong>We are seeking a skilled and adaptable <strong>OT Maintenance Technician</strong> to support the maintenance and reliability of operational technology systems. The role involves maintaining, calibrating, and optimising regulatory monitoring equipment, instrumentation, and process control systems across operational environments.The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the continuous improvement of asset performance. This position requires strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.<strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Carry out <strong>planned preventative and proactive maintenance</strong> on instrumentation, telemetry, and regulatory equipment to ensure system reliability and compliance</li><li>Provide <strong>timely response to operational issues</strong>, conducting on-site diagnosis, fault finding, and resolution</li><li>Perform <strong>calibration and maintenance</strong> of process sensors, analytical instruments, and control systems</li><li>Support the delivery of <strong>cost-effective improvements</strong> to regulatory assets and associated systems</li><li>Ensure adherence to <strong>established standards, policies, and change governance procedures</strong></li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including <strong>OT Engineers, ICA, mechanical and electrical technicians</strong> to prioritise and deliver maintenance activities</li><li>Apply <strong>electrical, instrumentation, and process system knowledge</strong> to optimise performance and minimise system risks</li><li>Conduct or support <strong>root cause analysis (RCA)</strong> of equipment failures and take ownership of corrective actions</li><li>Engage with OT leadership and engineering teams to contribute to <strong>technical standards development and compliance</strong> (e.g., UK NIS Regulations)</li><li>Assist in developing and expanding <strong>IT/OT governance frameworks</strong> related to regulatory equipment and assets</li><li>Support the preparation and maintenance of <strong>technical documentation, procedures, and training materials</strong></li><li>Collaborate on <strong>risk assessments, safe systems of work (SSOW), and task safety instructions</strong></li><li>Promote and maintain a strong <strong>health & safety culture</strong>, ensuring compliance with company policies and legislation</li><li>Maintain awareness and compliance with <strong>information security policies and standards</strong></li><li>Participate in ongoing <strong>training and development</strong> to enhance technical knowledge and meet regulatory requirements</li></ul><strong>Key Skills & Competencies</strong><ul><li>Strong knowledge of <strong>instrumentation, sensors, and process control systems</strong></li><li>Experience with <strong>SCADA, PLCs, telemetry systems, and industrial automation</strong></li><li>Proficient in <strong>fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis</strong></li><li>Understanding of <strong>preventative and reactive maintenance practices</strong></li><li>Knowledge of <strong>health & safety regulations and risk management</strong></li><li>Familiarity with <strong>change management and compliance frameworks</strong></li><li>Excellent <strong>problem-solving and analytical skills</strong></li><li>Strong <strong>communication and teamwork abilities</strong></li><li>Ability to <strong>prioritise tasks and adapt to changing operational demands</strong></li></ul><strong>Qualifications & Experience</strong><ul><li>3-5 years' experience in <strong>Operational Technology, Instrumentation, or Maintenance roles</strong></li><li>Background in <strong>utilities, manufacturing, energy, or process industries</strong> preferred</li><li>Relevant technical qualification (e.g., <strong>Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Engineering</strong>)</li><li>Experience with <strong>regulatory or critical infrastructure environments</strong> is desirable</li></ul><strong>Desirable Experience</strong><ul><li>Knowledge of <strong>UK NIS (Network and Information Systems) Regulations</strong></li><li>Experience with <strong>industrial cybersecurity practices</strong></li><li>Exposure to <strong>asset performance optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives</strong></li></ul><strong>What We're Looking For</strong><ul><li>A <strong>resilient and adaptable professional</strong> who thrives in fast-paced environments</li><li>A <strong>proactive problem solver</strong> with a strong sense of ownership</li><li>A team player who can <strong>collaborate effectively across departments</strong></li><li>Commitment to <strong>safety, compliance, and quality outcome</strong></li></ul><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?50N8xKcU4F2hW103xn4Gjlr8W6tsIAg7d" width="0" height="0" />
