<p><strong>Role:</strong> Mechanical Assembler / Fitter</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Bedfordshire</p><p><strong>Hours:</strong> 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday</p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> £32,400</p><p>An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Multi-skilled<strong> Mechanical Assembler / Fitter</strong> to join a long established and respected engineering manufacturing company.</p><p>This is an interesting and varied role, assembling and fitting high-quality components used in stainless steel food processing equipment.</p><p><strong>Duties of a Mechanical Assembler / Fitter:</strong></p><ul><li>Assemble and fit manufacturing components to a high standard</li><li>Work from engineering drawings to complete builds accurately</li><li>Carry out mechanical motor fitting, stripping, and rebuilding</li><li>Build and install pneumatic and hydraulic systems</li><li>Assemble and fit bearing housings</li><li>Use a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment</li><li>Build special purpose machinery</li><li>Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation</li><li>Follow health & safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements</li><li>Adhere to company rules and processes</li><li>Work in the factory or on client sites when required</li></ul><p><strong>What we would like from you:</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience in mechanical assembly and fitting</li><li>Experience with motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and machinery builds</li><li>Ability to read and understand engineering drawings</li><li>Proficiency with hand tools and mechanical equipment</li><li>Strong attention to detail and quality standards</li><li>Ability to work effectively within a team</li><li>A recognised engineering qualification (e.g. City & Guilds) is desirable or equivalent experience</li></ul><p><strong>Working Hours:</strong></p><ul><li>Monday: 7:30am - 1:00pm / 1:30pm - 4:00pm</li><li>Tuesday: 7:30am - 1:00pm / 1:30pm - 4:30pm</li><li>Wednesday & Thursday: 7:30am - 1:00pm / 1:30pm - 5:00pm</li><li>Friday: 7:30am - 12:00pm</li></ul><p>Overtime is generally available and paid at 1.5x Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings.<strong>Benefits:</strong></p><ul><li>Annual bonus based on company performance</li><li>20 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing to 26 with service)</li><li>Life assurance</li><li>Sick pay scheme</li><li>Pension scheme</li><li>Workwear provided</li><li>Subsidised drinks and snacks</li><li>Staff meals and events</li></ul><p>If you are interested in this role, please apply below with your most recent CV. </p><p>BEDFORDPERM</p><p><em>By applying to this job advertisement, you confirm you have read and understood our </em><em> and give OA Group authorisation to hold you provided data</em>.</p><p><em>Thank you for your interest in this vacancy, which is being advertised by OA Group, who are acting as an employment agency / business.
