Mechanical Design Engineer

<strong>Job Title: </strong>Mechanical Engineer<strong>Location:</strong> Northwest<strong>Salary:</strong> Up to £40k (depending on experience) We're partnering with an engineering organisation developing advanced regulated products seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support new product development and lifecycle. The role focuses on design, testing, validation, and engineering changes for electromechanical systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on schedule while supporting continuous improvement and innovation.<strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Support mechanical design and development for new product introduction (NPI) projects.</li><li>Work with suppliers to support ongoing product quality and manufacturability.</li><li>Plan and conduct product testing and validation against agreed procedures and timelines.</li><li>Analyse and report test results to engineering teams.</li><li>Maintain and support test equipment calibration and laboratory systems.</li><li>Ensure testing activities comply with internal quality and safety procedures (IEC 62304 / IEC 60601).</li><li>Work closely with mechanical, electronic, quality, and regulatory teams.</li><li>Coordinate design and validation work with international engineering teams.</li><li>Support development of future product technologies and engineering roadmaps.</li></ul><strong>About You:</strong><ul><li>Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.</li><li>3+ years' experience in mechanical engineering or product development.</li><li>Experience working in a laboratory or regulated engineering environment.</li><li>Exposure to product testing, validation, or engineering change processes.</li><li>Experience with CAD, Creo, or other transferable Mechanical skills e.g. SolidWorks.</li><li>Ability to work with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.</li></ul> Please note we cannot offer sponsorship for the role.
