<p>Location: Kidlington, Oxfordshire</p><p>Salary: £30k to £40k (dependent on experience)</p><p> </p><p>About the Role</p><p>We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Special Projects Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to develop their career within project engineering, with clear progression into managing projects independently.</p><p>You will support the Special Projects team in the coordination, delivery, and completion of projects, while gaining hands-on experience across tendering, project management, design input, and client liaison.</p><p> </p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>Initial Duties</p><p>• Assist in the preparation of tenders, including issuing enquiries and gathering relevant information</p><p>• Support project management activities, including purchasing and organising plant, materials, and sub-contractors</p><p>• Assist with monthly invoicing and applications for payment</p><p>• Compile Operating & Maintenance manuals for completed projects, including mark-up and printing of Record Drawings</p><p>• Attend site commissioning and witness client training sessions</p><p>• Support the day-to-day running of the department</p><p>• Attend site meetings alongside engineers</p><p>• Survey and price small-scale projects</p><p>• Source and locate parts/materials to support engineers</p><p>• Provide site support and technical assistance when required</p><p>• Assist the Service Department with technical support</p><p> </p><p>Long-Term Development Opportunities</p><p>As experience grows, responsibilities will expand to include:</p><p>• Surveying and estimating new works independently</p><p>• Increased involvement in design input</p><p>• Full management of projects from inception through to completion</p><p>• Preparation and completion of handover documentation</p><p>• Submission and agreement of Final Accounts</p><p> </p><p>Candidate Profile</p><p>• Engineering qualification (or working towards one) preferred</p><p>• Strong organisational and communication skills</p><p>• Proactive attitude with willingness to learn</p><p>• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines</p><p>• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office essential; experience with project software advantageous)</p><p>• Full driving licence preferred</p><p> </p><p>What We Offer</p><p>• Structured career progression</p><p>• Hands-on experience across all stages of project delivery</p><p>• Supportive team environment</p><p>• Salary £30k to £40k DOE</p><p> </p><p>If you are ambitious, technically minded, and looking to build a long-term career in mechanical engineering, we would love to hear from you.</p><p></p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?1cWG9WvfIsrxj5sZX4fu3Z6wminpBMeKo" width="0" height="0" />
