<p><b>Manufacturing Engineer</b></p> <p>We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with CAM programming expertise to support the transition from design through to production within a high-precision manufacturing environment.</p> <p>The successful candidate will be responsible for developing machining strategies, designing tooling and fixtures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.</p> <p>The role will involve collaborating closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Sales, and external suppliers to ensure efficient, cost-effective manufacturing solutions are delivered to customer specification.</p> <p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p> <ul> <li>Develop and simulate offline CNC programs for high-precision components using CAM software.</li> <li>Program 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machinery</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Select efficient tooling packages and cutting strategies for each component.</li> <li>Work closely with tooling manufacturers to introduce the latest tooling technologies and machining methods.</li> <li>Create setup sheets, process booklets, tool assembly instructions, and detailed manufacturing documentation.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with Production and Quality departments to improve manufacturing methods and reduce machining time and labour costs.</li> <li>Troubleshoot machining and process issues to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.</li> <li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, tooling optimisation, and process capability.</li> <li>Support Sales and Marketing teams by contributing manufacturing concepts, technical input, and quotation support for new business opportunities.</li> <li>Assist with cost estimation and manufacturability reviews for potential projects.</li> <li>Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure customer requirements are achieved efficiently and economically.</li> </ul> <p><b>Essential Criteria:</b></p> <ul> <li>HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent third-level qualification in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another STEM-related discipline.</li> <li>Minimum 5 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering, CNC Programming, or CAM Programming roles.</li> <li>Ability to interpret engineering drawings</li> <li>Experience creating process documentation</li> </ul> <p><b>Desirable</b></p> <ul> <li>Experience within aerospace, defence, automotive, or medical device manufacturing.</li> <li>Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.</li> </ul> <p>Salary is dependant upon experience and in the region of £45-50k.</p> <p>For further information please email your CV through the link.</p> <p> By applying for this role you are consenting to Energis Recruitment holding your details for a period of 12 months to be considered for other roles.
