<p><strong>Landing Gear Engineer</strong><strong>Location:</strong> Filton (Hybrid - approx. 60% onsite)<strong>Working pattern:</strong> 35 hours per week Flexible within core business hours<strong>Engagement:</strong> Contract (initial end date 31/10/2026, with potential extension)<strong>Clearance:</strong> BPSS+ required<strong>Hourly Rate: £37.38 PAYE or £50.00 Umbrella</strong><strong>About the opportunity</strong></p><p> Guidant Global is working in partnership with <strong>Airbus</strong> to recruit an experienced <strong>Landing Gear Engineer</strong>, supporting the ongoing safety, reliability, and continuous improvement of landing gear systems across multiple aircraft programmes.</p><p> This is a highly visible engineering role at the heart of in-service support, where your expertise will directly contribute to resolving complex technical issues, protecting airworthiness, and minimising aircraft downtime for global customers. If you enjoy solving real-world engineering challenges and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, this role offers both impact and professional growth.<strong>What you'll be doing</strong></p><p> As a Landing Gear Engineer, you'll be responsible for identifying, analysing, and resolving recurring landing gear issues across Airbus fleets, including A300, A320, and A330 aircraft.</p><p> Key responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Working closely with In-Service Engineering teams to identify top and recurring landing gear issues, including major in-service problems with potential airworthiness impact</li><li>Leading and contributing to engineering investigations to determine root causes, working in collaboration with landing gear suppliers and engineering partners</li><li>Proposing and supporting the development of effective technical solutions, ranging from documentation updates through to equipment or design changes</li><li>Responding to time-critical engineering queries, helping to minimise Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events and customer operational disruption</li><li>Supporting the development of robust engineering studies and "ready-to-use" materials for customer-facing and technical teams</li><li>Building deep technical knowledge of landing gear systems, with the opportunity to become increasingly autonomous and influential within the function</li></ul><p><strong>Who we're looking for</strong></p><p> We're seeking a mechanically focused engineer with strong in-service experience within aerospace or a closely related industry.</p><p> You'll ideally bring:</p><ul><li>A background in <strong>mechanical engineering</strong>, ideally with exposure to landing gear systems</li><li>Experience working on <strong>in-service engineering activities</strong>, such as concessions, modifications, or airworthiness reviews</li><li>Exposure to aerospace environments, particularly within Airbus or landing gear supply chains (highly beneficial)</li><li>The ability to work confidently with internal stakeholders and external suppliers in a fast-paced, operational setting</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills</li></ul><p><em>Please note:</em> this role is best suited to mechanical engineers rather than systems or avionics specialists.<strong>What you'll get in return</strong></p><p> In addition to working on industry-leading aircraft programmes, you'll benefit from:</p><ul><li>Competitive hourly rates (Umbrella and PAYE options available)</li><li>A flexible, hybrid working model to support work-life balance</li><li>The chance to work on complex, high-impact engineering challenges</li><li>Exposure to leading aerospace engineering practices and global stakeholders</li><li>Opportunities to grow your technical capability and long-term career prospects within aerospace</li></ul><p><strong>Why Guidant Global?</strong></p><p> At Guidant Global, we believe in <strong>connecting great people with meaningful work</strong>.
