This role offers the opportunity to work on a specialist fleet of vehicles and trailers that support healthcare services across the UK.<br /><br />Our fleet includes Volvo FH and DAF trucks, as well as specialist medical trailers and support vehicles.<br /><br />This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a stable, long-term role within a growing engineering business.<br /><br /> The Role <br /><br />As an HGV / Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the company's fleet of trucks, trailers and specialist medical equipment to the highest standards.<br /><br />Key responsibilities include:<br /><br /> Routine maintenance and repair of Volvo FH and DAF HGV vehicles<br /> Routine inspections and preventative maintenance of trucks and trailers<br /> Maintenance and repair of mobile medical trailers<br /> Carrying out full annual inspections including hubs and brake strip-downs<br /> Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults<br /> Diagnostics and repair of trailer ABS / EBS systems<br /> Maintenance and repair of TRIDEC steering systems<br /> Maintenance and repair of hydraulic landing leg systems<br /> Diagnostics and repair of vehicle and trailer electrical systems<br /> Occasionally carrying out routine servicing and repairs to diesel generators<br /> Occasionally carrying out routine servicing and repairs to the company fleet of vans<br /> Occasional attendance at on-site maintenance and breakdowns at hospitals and medical facilities across the UK<br /> Ensuring all work is completed to high safety and quality standards<br /> Completing service documentation and reports in a timely manner<br /><br />The role is primarily workshop-based at our Upper Heyford depot, with occasional site visits when required.<br /><br /> What We're Looking For <br /><br />Essential:<br /><br /> Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Trailer Technician<br /> Experience maintaining heavy commercial vehicles and trailers<br /> Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills<br /> Ability to work independently and as part of a team<br /> Full UK driving licence<br /><br />Desirable:<br /><br /> Experience working with trailer ABS / EBS systems<br /> Experience with TRIDEC steering systems<br /> Experience working with hydraulic systems<br /> HGV C+E licence<br /><br /> Salary & Overtime <br /><br /> Competitive salary depending on experience<br /> Salary review following successful completion of probation<br /> Overtime available:<br /> 1.5x weekdays and Saturdays<br /> 2x Sundays and Bank Holidays<br /><br />Working Hours<br /><br /> Monday - Friday<br /> 8:00am - 5:00pm<br /> 45-hour working week including 1 hour unpaid lunch<br /><br />Benefits<br /><br /> Company pension<br /> Health and wellbeing support<br /> On-site parking<br /> Ongoing training and development<br /> Long-term career opportunities within a growing engineering business<br /><br /> Why Join Quest Medical? <br /><br /> Specialist engineering work supporting the UK healthcare sector<br /> Modern workshop environment<br /> Stable fleet and structured working hours<br /> Opportunity to develop specialist trailer and equipment knowledge<br /> Supportive and experienced engineering team<br /><br /> Quest Medical UK Ltd is an Equal Opportunities Employer. <br /><br />Job Types: Full-time, Permanent<br /><br />Benefits:<br /> Company pension<br /> Enhanced maternity leave<br /> Free parking<br /> On-site parking<br /> Referral programme<br /><br />Work Location: In person<img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?VZ6agKFPodtj8RhfcyOD8B%2f9sUoZAKYWl" width="0" height="0" />
