<p><strong>AR853 - Heavy Forklift Engineer</strong><strong>Location:</strong> Doncaster<strong>Salary:</strong> £35,000 - £40,000 + Overtime + Benefits<strong>Overview:</strong>First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Heavy Forklift Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of large-capacity forklift trucks and heavy material handling equipment, including both customer-owned machinery and fleet assets. You will ensure all work is completed to a high standard, maintaining safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction at all times.Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be considered.<strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Service, maintain, and repair large / heavy forklift trucks and associated material handling equipment</li><li>Carry out planned preventative maintenance and inspections</li><li>Diagnose faults and complete mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical repairs</li><li>Check and maintain oil, fuel, and fluid levels</li><li>Inspect and maintain hoses, hydraulics, and connections</li><li>Conduct steering, braking, and safety system checks</li><li>Carry out basic electrical diagnostics (lights, sensors, controls)</li><li>Attend breakdowns and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime</li><li>Liaise with customers on-site regarding faults, repairs, and requirements</li><li>Submit accurate parts requisitions and service reports</li><li>Represent the business professionally as a key customer-facing engineer</li></ul><p><strong>Skills and Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong mechanical engineering background (essential)</li><li>Experience working on heavy forklifts, plant machinery, HGVs, or similar equipment</li><li>Good understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills</li><li>Excellent time management and organisational ability</li><li>Good communication skills (verbal and written)</li><li>Customer-focused approach</li><li>Full UK driving licence</li></ul><p><strong>Location:</strong> Doncaster<strong>Salary:</strong> £35,000 - £40,000 + Overtime + Benefits</p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?amo%2fDfii9%2fTcK%2bFuiJc36UyBSRL2FeCMs" width="0" height="0" />
