<p>Part-Time General Manager - HR & Facilities</p><p><strong>Location: </strong>Wakefield, West Yorkshire</p><p><strong>Contract Type: </strong>Part Time - 24 hours per week (typically 3 days per week; flexibility available)</p><p><strong>Salary: </strong>£29,000 per annum (pro rata for 24 hours)</p><p><strong>Reports to: </strong>Managing Director / Board</p><p>Role Purpose</p><p>My client is seeking an experienced Part-Time General Manager to oversee Facilities Management (70%), Human Resources (20%), and ad-hoc operational management (10%). This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring the business operates safely, compliantly, and efficiently, while supporting employees and senior leadership.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Facilities Management (Approx. 70%)</p><ul><li>Day-to-day management of site facilities, ensuring safety and compliance</li><li>Oversight of building maintenance, repairs, and planned preventative maintenance</li><li>Management of health & safety compliance, including risk assessments and audits</li><li>Primary liaison with external contractors and service providers</li><li>Management of facilities budgets, utilities, and service contracts</li><li>Ensuring compliance with UK health, safety, and environmental legislation</li><li>Oversight of fire safety, emergency planning, and business continuity</li><li>Maintaining site standards, security, and access control</li><li>Supporting facilities improvement or refurbishment projects</li></ul><p>Human Resources (Approx. 20%)</p><ul><li>Oversight of HR operations and employment policies</li><li>Management of employee relations, including absence, disciplinary, and grievance matters</li><li>Advising managers on UK employment law and HR best practice</li><li>Coordination of recruitment and onboarding</li><li>Oversight of training, development, and compliance training</li><li>Maintenance of HR records and GDPR compliance</li><li>Liaison with payroll providers and finance on payroll inputs</li></ul><p>Ad-hoc Management & Operational Support (Approx. 10%)</p><ul><li>General management support to senior leadership</li><li>Support for cross-departmental operational matters</li><li>Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives</li><li>Providing cover or additional support during key periods</li></ul><p>Person Specification</p><p>Essential</p><ul><li>Proven experience in a General Manager, Facilities Manager, Operations Manager, or similar role</li><li>Strong facilities management background</li><li>Working knowledge of UK employment law</li><li>Good understanding of health & safety legislation</li><li>Ability to work autonomously in a part-time role</li><li>Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills</li></ul><p>Desirable</p><ul><li>NEBOSH or IOSH qualification</li><li>CIPD Level 3 or above</li><li>Experience in manufacturing, textiles, or SME environments</li></ul><p>I look forward to your application.</p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?aP%2fblHlMLSuGxxM16QOLSVZYDp9mh%2bhYr" width="0" height="0" />
