<strong>Fleet Control Senior</strong><p><strong>Monday to Friday Day Shifts</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Fleet Control Senior</strong> to lead and support a busy maintenance control function. This is a key role responsible for ensuring fleet uptime, managing performance, and delivering against operational KPIs.</p><p>Working in a fast-paced environment, you will act as the central point of contact for technical support, liaising with a network of garages and service providers while supporting a diverse commercial fleet.</p><strong>The Role</strong><p>As a Fleet Control Senior, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance control team, ensuring efficient communication, effective scheduling, and minimal vehicle downtime.</p><p>You will be responsible for supporting a varied fleet, including:</p><ul><li>HGVs</li><li>Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) and vans</li><li>Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs)</li><li>Gritters and sweepers</li><li>Minibuses and other specialist vehicles</li></ul><p>This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same, requiring strong organisational, technical, and communication skills.</p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Supervise, mentor, and support a small team of Fleet Controllers</li><li>Coordinate and schedule repairs, servicing, and inspections</li><li>Manage <strong>First Notification of Loss (FNOL)</strong> cases</li><li>Liaise with core garages and third-party maintenance providers</li><li>Monitor repair progress and challenge timescales where necessary</li><li>Log and track maintenance and repair activities</li><li>Maximise utilisation of field service engineers</li><li>Manage parts availability and maintain appropriate stock levels</li><li>Follow up on vehicle recoveries resulting from breakdowns or accidents</li><li>Analyse defects and ensure timely resolution with repair providers</li></ul><strong>About You</strong><p>To succeed in this role, you will bring:</p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance, ideally HGVs</li><li>Confidence in discussing technical issues with workshops and service providers</li><li>Understanding of repair costs, warranty processes, and maintenance spend</li><li>Experience in a fleet, workshop, or maintenance control environment</li><li>Ability to challenge repair estimates and downtime effectively</li><li>Excellent organisational and communication skills</li></ul><p>You will regularly engage with Service Managers, Workshop Controllers, and Vehicle Technicians, with a core focus on reducing downtime and returning vehicles to service as quickly as possible.</p><strong>Skills & Systems</strong><ul><li>Good IT literacy, including MS Office</li><li>Familiarity with fleet or automotive systems (e.g. Kerridge, DMS, SAP) is advantageous</li></ul><strong>About the Company</strong><p>Kautec Recruitment is a fast-growing automotive recruitment specialist, committed to connecting skilled professionals with leading employers across the sector.</p><strong>Next Steps</strong><p>If you're ready to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.</p><p>If this role isn't quite right but you're exploring new opportunities within the automotive or fleet sector, please get in touch for a confidential discussion.</p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?dJC9BLNhXkikeG6U%2f2mClozto2ex%2fHHkl" width="0" height="0" />
